TEN BECKLEY New Officers Of Fred Shannon Assembly New officers of Fred Shannon Assembly No. 51, Order of Rainbow for Girls, were installed Sunday afternoon in the Pineville Masonic Hall. County DIXIE (RNS) James Lowell Simpson, 46, of Dixie died Sunday in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. He was a member of the Dixie First Baptist Church. Born in West Virginia, Oct.

4, 1925, he was a son of Mrs. Daisy Simpson of Dixie and the late Rev. Denton Simpson. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Fern Skaggs of Jodie and Mrs.

Melba Blankenship of Columbus, Ohio. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today the Funeral Home Chapel at Gauley Bridge with Rev. Guy Vaughan in charge. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Park at Fayetteville.

J. L. Simpson, 46, Dies In Hospital Men Are Jailed FAYETTEVILLE (RNS) Placed in the Fayette County Jail at 11:06 p.m. Saturday on charges of drunken driving and improper registration was Harry Williams, 25, of Winona. Williams was arrested in Lookout by Sheriff's Deputy Jack Smith.

Also arrested and placed in jail at 1:40 a.m. Sunday was Donald Ray Gardner, 30, of Mount Hope on charges of driving while intoxicated and carring pistol without a permit. He was arrested by Trooper C. E. Shelton.

Funeral Wednesday For George F. Olds OAK HILL (RNS) Funeral services for George Franklin Olds, 59, of Route 1, Oak Hill will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Oscar Martin in charge. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery at Route 1, Oak Hill.

He died Saturday evening at his home following an apparent heart attack. The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. today. Health Clinics Set In Wyoming County OCEANA Two general health screening clinics are scheduled for Oceana this month, Dr. Ross Newman, chairman of the Wyoming County Health Council, has announced.

The Southern West Virginia Regional Health Council's mobile clinic will be used on both days, June 8 and June 23. The clinic will be stationed at the town hall from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The clinic. is open to all persons and there are no charges for the services, which provides screening for a wide variety of illnesses including cancer, tuberculosis and diabetes. The clinics are under the direction of the maternal and child health project of the council, and are part of a ninecounty comprehensive health care program conducted by the council in southeru West Virginia.

Christine Wells. R. 0. Phillips, 52, Has Fatal Attack ALDERSON (RNS) Robert Otho Phillips, 52, of Alderson died at his home at 4 a.m. Monday of an apparent heart' attack.

Mrs. Frances Trump left Monday to resume her classes at Morris Harvey College in Charleston after spending the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Bower. The Bowers also had as a weekend guest their son, Carlos of Marifield, Ohio, who returned home Sunday.

King of 105 Blackburn Oak Hill. who attended Indiana University-Bloomington, has been awarded a Fulbright-Hays Grant for graduate study in Portugal during the 1972-73 academic year. King is one of 375 young American students and artists who have been selected for Fulbright-Hays Awards this year. The Fulbright-Hays Program is part of the United States Government's educational and cultural exchange program administered by the Department of State. It is conducted in cooperation with more than 100 foreign countries, some of which contribute substantially to the financing of academic exchanges, and has enabled more than 36,000 American I teachers to go abroad, students, scholars, artists, and more than 67,000 foreign students, scholars, artists, end others to come to the U.S.

today. Rites Incomplete For Leslie Cales SANDSTONE (RNS) Leslie D. Cales, 64, of Sandstone died Sunday night at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was born in Summers County, Oct. 14, 1907, a son of the late Charles and Emma Johnson Cales.

He had lived all of his life in Summers County and was a retired timberman. Surviving are a son, Billy Joe of Sandstone; two daughters, Mrs. June Zickafoose of Glen Burnie, Mrs. Alfreda Owen of Atchinson, four a sisters, Mrs. Donnie Bragg of Mrs.

BROOKLYN (AP) Brooklyn Museum is recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Van Amerigen Foundation Inc. to assist its summer educational program. Born March 10, 1878, he was a son of the late Ham and Jane Smith Reese. Surviving are three sons, Bobby Eugene and Clarence Charles, both of Oak Hill, and Herbert Fletcher of Wriston; two brothers, Lonnie Reese Robson and Andy of Fayetteville; 42 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. HOOD, Tex. S. Sgt. William T. Webb, son of Rev.

and Mrs. Robert E. Lee Webb, Box 145, Logan, has been assigned to the 2nd Armored Division at Ft. Hood, Tex. Sgt.

Webb is communications chief in Battery 8th Battalion, 60th Air Defense Artillery of the division. entered the Army in May 1961, received basic training at Knox, and was last stationed in Vietnam. The sergeant holds the Bronze Star Medal Army Commendation Medal. His wife, Marian, is with him at Ft. Hood.
