F. SHEPPARD Sturm Weds: In Church Mrs. James A. Halstead. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floorlength A-line silhouette gown of imported reembroidered Alen-ber con lace embellished by clusters of seed pearls with a scalloped Sabrina neckline and empire bodice.

A wide band of lace encircled the hemline of her gown. Medallions of the lace and seed pearls accented the long traditional sleeves. The back of the bodice was embellished with tiny buttons. Medallions of lace at the waistline held the detachable full lace bordered chapel length, train of organza, and peau de soie. A forward cluster of reembroidered Alencon lace and pearls held the bouffant veil of imported silk illusion and her flowers were a cascade of yellow roses on a white Bible.

derson Place in Morgantown. Miss Brenda Perry of St. Albans was maid of honor and she wore a floor-length gown of pale blue voile and carried a bouquet of spring flowers. Richard Divita of Montgomery served as best man and ushers were Marshall McNeer of Montgomery and Gary Sturm of Pineville, brother of the bride. Taper lighters were Lewis Sturm of Princeton, brother of the bride, Marshall McNeer of Montgomery.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Sturm chose a yellow coat and dress ensemble, yellow accessories and yellow roses. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Sheppard chose a pink dress, black patent accessories and pink roses. A reception was held in the Walnut Room of the church.

The serving table was covered with a white linen cloth and centered with a three-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom. An arrangement of spring flowers served as the centerpiece. Aides were Mrs. Terry Brown, Mrs. Shirley Mayhew, Mrs.

Margaret Hollinger, Mrs. Diane Sturm and Mrs. D. F. Hamlin.

Following the reception the couple left for a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla. The bride was graduated from Pineville High School and West Virginia Tech. She was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and is employed in the office of the governor and will work with the palachian Regional Commission in 1 Morgantown. The bridegroom was gra, duated from Montgomery High School and West Virginia Tech, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He is attending West Virginia University College of Law.

The couple will live at 36 An- Gutshall, 41, Dies; Services Scheduled RAINELLE (RNS) Funeral services for Glen D. Gutshall, 41, of Rainelle will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sewell Valley Baptist Church with Rev. P. E.

Orndorff and Rev. Homer A. Argabright in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He died Saturday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness.

Thomas Sheppard of 502 5th Montgomery. The double ring ceremony took place at with Rev. James A. Halstead, pastor, reading the ceremony before an alter flanked with yellow roses, spring flowers and Two-branched candelabra with lighted tapers formed the arch for the background. BRAGG, N. C. Pvt. Frederick W. Bryant, 17, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Frederick A. Bryant of Holden, has been assigned to the Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, N. C.

Pvt. Bryant is a rifleman in Company 1st Battalion of the Division's 504th Infantry. He entered the Army in January 1972, received basic training at Ft. Knox, and was last stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga.

Activated in August 1917, the 82nd Airborne Division participated in three major offensives in World War I. The renowned Sgt. Alvin C. York served under its colors. As the nation's first Airborne Division, the all American fought from Sicily to Central Europe in World War I.

Division members earned three Medals of Honor. The Division's 3rd Brigade was deployed to Vietnam in February 1968. The brigade returned to Ft. Bragg, N. Dec.

12, 1969. Woman, 88, Dies; Rites Scheduled MILL POINT (RNS) Mrs. Ella Jackson, 88, died Sunday morning in an Elkins hospital after a two week illness. Born in Randolph County, Sept. 29, 1883, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Minerva Cowger Daff.

She was a member of the Baptist Church. Her husband, William Edward Jackson, preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lillie Ethel Jane Rose and Mrs. Norma Rose, both of Hillsboro, Mrs.

Stella Cloonan of Mill Point and Mrs. Winford Handis of Culpeper, a son, William E. Jackson Jr. of Marlinton; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Swecker of Huttonsville, Mrs.

Mary Proskocil of Canton, Ohio, Mrs. Stella Lindsay of Beverly and Mrs. Sarah Moore of Elkins, and 26 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev.

William Markley in charge. Burial will be in the Cloonan Cemetery near Buckeye. Friends may. call at Van Reenen Funeral Home in Marlinton after 2 p.m. today.

Basic Is Completed SAN ANTONIO Airman David E. Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Evans of Verdunville, has completed his U.

Funeral Planned For Rainelle Man RAINELLE (RNS) Willard Franklin Staley, 72, of Raineile died Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs.

L. C. (Ernestine) Hoblitzell of Rainelle, after a long illness. He was a retired molder for the Meadow River Lumber member of Rainelle United Methodist Church and Knights of Pythias Lodge. Survivors include two other daughters, Mrs.

T. F. (Evelyn) Ogletree of Rainelle and Mrs. R. C.

(Katherine) Jackson of Frankfurt, Germany; a son, James of Rainelle; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Mullins of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Charles of Bandy, and six grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rainelle United Methodist Church with Rev. Randolph Neely in charge.

and Mrs. George A. Oiler of Edmond, has been notified that she has been selected as a participant in West Virginia University National Science Foundation High School Biology Honor's Program. The program runs from June 11 Aug. 12 and carries college credit in biological sciences.

Miss Oiler is a 17-year-old junior at Nuttall High School in Lookout. George Washington had to surrender Ft. Necessity at the Battle of Great Meadows in the French and Indian War. The lap robes for the nursing homes were displayed and members were asked to make one. A trip to be taken by club members was discussed and committee reports were given. Man In Summers Installation Rites Are Held Has Fatal Attack For Rainelle Club Officers FREELAND MOUNTAIN. (RNS) Calma Meadows, 67, of Freeland Mountain died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday in Dr. J. W.

Stokes' office in Hinton of! an apparent heart attack. He was a retired timberman and construction worker. Born Oct. 19, 1915, he was a son of Laura Meadows and the late Thomas Meadows. Survivors include his wife, Leolola; three daughters, Mrs.

Ronald Marshal of Trenton, Ohio, Mrs. Ronald Lester of Rainelle and Mrs. John Brown of Richmond, three sons, Russell of Hinton, Wilbur of Alexandria, and Dean at home; two sisters, Mrs. Ivous Bennett of Hinton and Mrs. Jean Hoenig of Maryland; four brothers, Arlie of Cowden, Roy, of Freeland Mountain, Basil of Layland and Donald of Hinton, and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the E. M. Meadows Funeral Home in Hinton with Rev. Napoleon Gill in charge.

Conkle Dies In Hospital WHITESVILLE (RNS) Gomer Harrison Conkle, 56, died Sunday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. He was a coal miner. Conkle was a son of the late James and Ada Conkle. Survivors include his wife, Opal Ruby Conkle; three sons, Robert and Freddie, both Cleveland, Ohio, and David of Ameagle; three daughters, Miss Gloria Conkle of Wheaton, Mrs. Janet Sauls of Cleveland and Mrs.

Linda Jones of Strongsville, Ohio; two brothers, Woodrow of Bucketel, Ohio, and John of Colcord; four sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Griffith of Whitesville, Mrs. Ada Richardson of Huntington, Mrs. Madeline Hodge of Doylestown, and Mrs. Gertrude Richards of Pt.

Pleasant, and 10 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Free Will Baptist Church at Ameagle with Rev. Homer Coots in charge. Burial will be in Pine View Cemetery at Orgas.

Announcement was made that Gwen Ward, a Rainelle Junior High School student, had been chosen by the club to attend Camp Horseshoe for a week this summer. The club will also sponsor a student to Citizenship Camp and a boy to Mountaineer Boys State Camp in June. Mrs. Claude Morton, ways and means chairman, asked members to donate used clothing and household articles to a rummage sale the club will have in early summer.

Luncheon Slated Robert Walls, president, and Mrs. W. Waller Caldwell, membership chairman of the Auxiliary of Greenbrier Manor, have extended a welcome to auxiliary members, past and present, to attend the annual membership luncheon at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cabin Club Restaurant in White Sulphur Springs. Committee chairmen reports will be heard prior to the luncheon.
