HYENTY-SIX Greenbrier Area HINTON (R.NS) The Grace Alien Circle of the Kings Daughters and Sons met Monday evening at tlit 1 home of Dr. and Mrs. Fred B. Wyand in the Bowling Hayes Apartments. Lula Cale and Miss Mae were co-hostesses.

Highlighting the meeting was the election of officers for the ensuing year; plans for a New Year's Tea to be at the January meeting honoring state officers and the preparation of food baskets for the needy to be distributed before Christmas. Mrs. Ina Keatou called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with a seasonal reading. The reports of officers were made, correspondence read including thank you notes from Miss Lavonna Ellison and Miss Cloteal Garrison who had been remembered by the circle.

Mrs. Edna Wyand read a letter from Mrs. Clayton Montgomery, branch Chautauqua chairman, concerning the work and Mrs. Vada Redmond gave a report on the Wheeling Nursery project. Mrs.

E. B. Ayrcs reported on the work being done by the Junior Circles of the Hinton area and rainy day and gift money was collected. The report of the nominating committee was presented by Mrs. Ayres with a slate of officers accepted as follows: Ina Keatou, president; Mrs.

Maude Mann, vice president; Miss Norma Allen, secretary; Mrs. Lula Cale, treasurer nnd Mrs. Vada Redmond had charge of the installation service assisted by Mrs. Inez Ayres. The January meeting was planned as a New Year's Tea honoring state officers.

Ina Keaton assisted by Mrs. Vada Redmond presided at the punch bowl and party plates detailed in the Christinas motif were served to Mrs. Goldie Hall, Mrs. Ollie Gwinn, Mrs. Sada Wills, Mrs.

Lula Cale. Mrs. Orpha Gulley, Dr. and Mrs. Fred B.

Wyand, Mrs. Inez Ayres, Mrs. Vada Bed- mond, Mrs. Ina Keaton, Mrs. Burma Keaton, Miss Mae Dodd, Miss Norma Allen and Miss Mary Huffman.

For Lois Delp PRINCETON (RNS) Lois Lee Delp, 45, of 304 Trent Princeton, was pronounced upon arrival Wednesday 'morning at a Bluefield hospital. He was found discovered in a car parked near the First Presbyterian Church in Bluefield by a girl. She notified U. Carter who in turn called the police. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.

Born at Princeton, March 27, 1921, he was a son of the late Arthur M. Delp and Mrs. Janney Delp of Princeton, with whom he lived. He was employed by the Virginia Pood Company at Bluefield and was past president of tlie Princeton Lions Club. He was a lifelong resident of Princeton.

Other survivors include two daughters, Patricia and Katherine, and two sons, Dickie and Danny, all at home; a sister, Mrs. Irdelphia Orender of Tampa, and two brothers, of Bluefield and James E. Delp of Princeton. The body is at Seaver Mortuary in Princeton. Arrangements are incomplete.

Services Friday For Miss Dotson LEWISBURG (RNS) Funeral services for Miss Myrna Dotsou, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lews- burg with Dr. Robert Pfrangle in charge. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery. She died in an Alexandria, Va.

hospital Monday night. LEWISBURG (RNS) Gailj F. Auldridge, soil conservationist, has announced his retire-j ment from the Soil Conservation Service USDA, effective Dec. 29 after more than 21 years with the department. Auldridge began duty with the SCS Aug.

3, 1945 at Beckley. At Beckley he served a three-month orientation period and was transferred to Hinton work unit conservationist where he served for 19 years. He became a conservationist at the Lewisburg Work Unit Feb. 5, 1965. Auldridge, a native of Pocahontas County, he was graduated from HiUsboro High School and West Virginia University College of Agriculture.

After Firemen Answer Call PRINCETON (RNS) -Princeton firemen were called to 1132 South Ave. Monday night. A blaze in the living room of the home was out upon arrival. Firemen reported that the window curtains had caught fire, apparently from a candle. The house sustained smoke damage.

Mrs. Grant Dies; Rites Incomplete HILL TOP (RNS) Funeral arrangements are incomplete for Mrs. Alma Stallcup Grant, 75, of Hill Top, who died 1 Wednesday morning in an Oak Hill hospital after an extended illness.

She was born March 12, 1891 in Bryson City, N. C. Survivors include her husband, Jesse R. Grant; sister, Mrs. Esther Symes, Shady Spring; two sons, William Lindenhurst, N.

and Louis Jacksonville, N. three daughters, Mrs. Madeline Gillespie, Tazewell, Mrs. B. E.

Smith, Hilltop and Mrs. Ruby Gray, Westchester, 18 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. The body is at the Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. graduation from the university n(1 to his employment wiu lile spent 16 years as a vocational agriculture instructor. In this capacity, he worked as instructor at Burnsville, Basin, Herndon, Oceana Wadestown and Surveyor.

He plans to operate a farm near Hinton on which he lives and his home farm in Pocahontas County. H. Farley Taylor Dies In Hospital HINTON (RNS) H. Taylor Farley, 73, of Jumping Branch died at 10:25 p. m.

Tuesday in a Beckley hospital after a short illness. He was born at Ellison, April 7,1893, a son of the late Drewery and Minerva Lilly Farley, anc was a lifelong resident of Ka leigh and Summers counties. He was a retired timber man and attended the Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Delia Farley, at home; one son, Paul of Midway; two daughters, Mrs.

Emma Bragg and Mrs. Reva Lilly, both of Jumping Branch; three brothers, Aaron of Ellison, Stanton and Oscar, both of Whitby; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Lilly of Portsmouth Ohio; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 p.m Friday at the Little Bhiestone Baptist Church at Jumping Branch with Elder A. L.

A turkey dinner with trim mings was served to the children at noon and caroling sessions were held in the rooms with parents visiting throughout the afternoon. Adkins Succumbs At 66 HINTON (RNS) Mrs. Minnie B.

Adkins, 66, of Hinton, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at a Hinton hospital after a long illness. She was born in Summers County, a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth McDowell Michael. Survivors include three daugh- Miss Donna Mae Adkins, Mrs. Goldie Martin and Mrs.

Rosie E. Ward, all of Hinton; 'our sons, Charles, HuJard, Billy and Paul, all of Hinton; 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 graders in the room of Mrs. Estelle Wills arranged a fireplace Santa and stockings depicting, "The Night Before Christmas," while the lower grades, under the supervision of Mrs. Gladys Caldwell and Miss Anna Laura Waid decorated with a variety of pine cone Christmas trees made by the children; colored pictures, nativity scenes, wreaths, and lighted Christmas trees.

The sixth grade girls were hostesses for a Christmas tea held at 1:30 p. m. in the dining room which featured a lighted Christmas tree, "Merry Christmas" posters and "Santa Claus." The tea table was set with a white cloth and centered with a miniature "Santa," his sleigh, miniature packages tied with red and green bows and pine cone trees made by the children in Miss Waid's room. Poinsetita candleholders with red-lighted tapers flanked the centerpiece and adorning the table were Christmas candies, cookies, and candy canes which were distributed to the students. Forming the background for the tea table was a painted scene showing a red brick house and green shrubbery with "Mr.

and Mrs. Snowman" knocking at the door. The window featured a holly wreath and a Christmas greeting for the students. Hostesses included Mary Martin, Debbie Sears, Barbara Richardson, Mary Sue Morris, Debbie Barker and Brenda Williams. Assisting with the activities of the afternoon were Mrs.

Elizabeth Martin, Mrs. Vera Johnson and Mrs. Pauline Coins teacher-aids at the school. Teachers were in charge of room entertainment for parents and guests. the holidays following the party and will return to classei Jan.

3. Minnie A. Snider Dies; Rites Set PRINCETON (RNS) Mrs. Minnie Ann Snider, 77, of Oakvale Road died at her home at 8 a. m.

Wednesday after a lone illness. Born at Newport, she was a daughter of the lata Mark and! Sarah Hank Ratliff. Her husband, Charlie Snider, died in 1960. Survivors include four sons, Lacy of Kopperston, Rex of Baltimore, and Marion and Kenneth, both of Princeton; two daughters, Mrs. John Bolton of Princeton and Mrs.

Ralph Hickman of Kopperston; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Bjork of Columbus, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. The body is at Memorial Funeral Directory. Arrangements are incomplete. Kiwanis Program Given By Students PRINCETON (RNS) The Matoaka Kiwanis Club met Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Born July 11, 1885, Mount Carbon, he was a son of the late Adam Toney and Mahala Snodgrass Toney. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Lookout and was a retired miner.

Toney had lived at Leolcout he application and noted that tarnc by Ioca! for 22 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sarah Cathcrn Buckley Toney; three daughters, Mrs. Manford (Pauline) Stone of Lookout, -Mrs. Clarence (Sarah) Carpenter of MacArthur and Mrs.

Kenneth (Annie) Castle of Gauley Bridge; a son, William L. Toney of Lookout, a deputy sheriff in Fayette County, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lookout Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Wlialey in charge.

Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens at Victor. The body will remain at Wai- agencies. PRINCETON (RNS) Earl 74, of Norfolk, formerly of Princeton, died Tuesday night in a Norfolk hospital after a long illness. Born at Bluefield, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Shuffelbarger.

He was a member of the Virginia Funeral Directors Embalmers Association and had worked in funeral homes at Princeton prior to moving to Norfolk. Survivors include a brother, John If. Shuffelbarger of Danese, and two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Howell and Mrs. Mary, both of Norfolk, Va.

The funeral will be held at 11 a. m. Friday in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel at Princeton with Rev. A. A.
