This wagon is owned by John Zumwalt, 90-year-old pioneer valley resident, who now resides at Bakersfleld. An order for the historical vehicle has been given to his nephew, M. C. Zumwalt of this city. The wagon Is one of the type made familiar by the gold-rush days and caravans crossing the plains in 49.

It was brought across the country a year earlier and ha3 long been a treasured, possession of the Zumwalt family. This prairie schooner will be on display at the new museum with a large display of Indian relics and historical heirlooms and data being collected throughout the valley by F. F. Latta. The Tulare, or Tule, Indian tribes left relics which are in many museums throughout the United States, and about two carloads of them are in the British museums in London, according to Latta, who is working this summer as a special representative of the Tulare County Forestry Board gathering materials and data for the museum.

Also details of the Dr. C. J. Dean non-surgical method cleanly cultivated, have escaped thus far. The mice have been attacking citrus and deciduous trees, girdling them about the base.

Damage thus far is small, but Griffes declares there is danger of considerable damage being done before growers realize the menace. Clearing away or the grass, which provides a hiding place for the mice, and use of poison barley are found the most effective methods of control. Greater damage seems to have been done In groves along the foothills or those adjoining vacant lands, which leads to the belief that the mice are coming in from the foothills. by her husband.
