SW. SCRIVEN-J. Dale Scriven 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Aline of the family home; daughter, Susan Scriven-Wilson and husband, Matthew of Sandia Park, NM; son, Mark Shawn Scriven of Moriarty; daughter-in-law, Kaye Summerhays of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Jacqueline Whittle of Phoenix, AZ and Amanda Wilson of Sandia Park, NM; step-grandchildren, Ian Doleman of Alaska, Joshua Dole-man of Albuquerque and Dustin Berg of Albuquerque. Mr.

Scriven was preceded in death by his son, J. Dale Scriven Jr. in 1995. He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1943 to January 1946 on the U.S.S.

Destroyer Foote with Little Beaver Squadron In the South Pacific. Mr. Scriven was a member of Heights Baptist Church ffom 1963 to 1996. At the time of death he was a member of Del Norte Baptist Church. Mr.

Scriven was a member of Albuquerque NE Lions Club for 35 years and a member of MENSA. Memorial services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at Del Norte Baptist Church, 5800 Montgomery Blvd. NE, with the Reverend Marsha A. Moore, D.

STANSBURY Cecelia Stansbury, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. She is survived by her children, Roseanne Sanchez, John Beecher, both of Albu querque, Eileen Schimmell of Uuisville, TX, Joseph Beecher of Panama City, FL, Christine Upez, Michael Beecher, both of Albuquerque, Diane Washington of San Pedro, CA, Carol Hooper of Albuquerque, and Liz Eschenbrenner; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Burke of Miami, FL; and sister-in-law, Maxine Cushman of Spring Valley, CA. Mrs. Stansbury was preceded in death by her husband, James Leo Stansbury on June 7, 1997, Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd.

STEADMAN-Jeannette Steadman, 90, a resident of Corrales, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 1997. Jeannette was born December 18, 1906 in Cambridge, Ohio, the daughter of Homer and Cora Eagleson Forsythe.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, had been a member of the Presbyterian Church in Cambridge, Ohio, she was an Eastern Star, and a member of PEO. Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her son, William of Corrales; grandson, Will of Rio Ran-cho; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Jeannette will be held in Ohio. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara at Mead-owlark I.n., Rio Rancho.

WHALEY William Wayne Whaley, 65, passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 1997 in Michigan while on vacation. Husband of 43 years to Dorothy; father and father-in-law of Jamy and Gregg Peevy and Bill Jr. and Dee Whaley, all of Albuquerque; son of Alice (Pat) Scales of Albuquerque. Mr. Whaley retired from Us Alamos National Ubs in 1993 after 17 years.

DeHerrera, 78, resident of Albuquerque for 41 years, died Friday, June 20, 1997. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lena DeHerrera of the family home; son, Brian DeHerrera and wife, Theresa of querque; grandson, Phillip Brian DeHerrera of Albuquerque; sisters, Sara Trujillo and husband, Dennis of Chama, NM, Geo Ortiz of Milpltas, CA, I.illie Casica and Helen Vigil, both of Denver, CO; and many nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen M. DeHerrera. He was an elder and choir member of the Second Presbyterian Church.

French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd NE. DERESIN Oxana Deresin, age 78 and a resident of Albuquerque for 47 years, passed away June 21, 1997. Mrs. Deresin is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Iwan; daughter, Nadine Patterson and husband, Mike of Houston, TX; sons, Nick Deresin and wife, Bonnie of Tijeras, NM, Patrick Deresin and wife, Brenda of Albuquerque; three siblings of Ukraine, Russia; four grandchildren, Paul Patterson, Chris Smi-etanski, Eleni Deresin and Kayla Deresin; three great-grandchildren, Christyne, Stephen and Brandon Smietanski. Mrs.

He worked 40 years for the Albuquerque Little Theater. He is survived by sons, Ramon Jaramillo and wife, Cathy, Miramon Garcia and wife, Jamie; daughters, Didianita Jaramillo, Tana Jaramillo, Gloria Jaramillo; ex-wife, Gloria Garcia; numerous grandchildren; one brothers; two sisters; numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him. Services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 7:00 p.m. at the Albuquerque Little Theater, 224 San Pasqual SW. Cremation by Direct Services, 343-8008, 4501 4th NW.

LESTER-Berta L. Uster, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, passed away Sunday, June 22, 1997 in a local nursing home. She is survived by her daughter, Lois L. Bnnebrake and husband, Gene of Koswell; son, Phillip L. Uster and wife, Linda of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren; great-grandchildren; aunt, Una Armstrong of Santa Fe; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Uster was preceded in death by her brothers, sisters and special friends. Mrs. Uster was born in Estancia, NM on August 26, 1909. Before entering the nursing home she was a resident of Encino House East.

She was a very active member of the University Heights Methodist Church. She and her family moved to Mountainair, NM where she grew up. Mrs. Uster married Joe Uster in November 1936. Uter during World War II they moved their family to Wichita, KS, where she worked at Aiken Utter Shop till her retirement.

Mrs. Uster will be missed dearly. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University NE, with Rev.

NE. MAGILL-William Alva Magill (Bill), 92, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away Saturday, June 21, 1997. Mr. Magill was born February 27, 1905 in Montclair, NJ to William and Anna Perham Magill who have preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Thelma Price Magill.

Bill served as a radioman on a Navy Destroyer between the two World Wars. After his dishcharge in 1930, he was employed as a Senior Traffic Controller with the FAA and held positions in Norfolk, VA, Santa Fe, Hobbs and Us Vegas, NM. In 1956, he retired from Civil Service and started with the Us Vegas Daily Optic as a photographer, then reporter, and finally as Editor. In 1964, he and his wife, Thelma returned to Santa Fe. During his 33 years in Santa Fe Bill was active in the Red Cross, St.

Vincent's Hospital Auxiliary, AARP, Republican Party, Stringer for the Albuquerque Journal, and served in numerous capacities at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Faith. He is survived by daughter, Kathleen Hroch and husband, William of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Kimberleigh Dawn Beck and husband, John David of San Antonio, TX. Bill will be fondly remembered as that special individual who contributed his time, compassion and his love for those in need. At one time, the holdings also included radio stations in Lubbock, Texas. Born in Washington, D.C., Seaton moved to Manhattan at age 2 when his father bought The Manhattan Mercury. Seaton eventually became the newspaper's business manager, helping it emerge as the city's only daily paper.

He moved to Coffeyville in 1947, when the family bought the Coffeyville Journal and KGGF radio. The newspaper was sold to Gannett Newspapers in 1978, and Seaton gave up day-to-day management responsibilities in the company. The Associated Press COFFEYVILLE, Kail. Richard M. Seaton, the head of a media group with holdings in four Western states, has died at age 84.

Seaton died Friday at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, where he was admitted on Wednesday after suffering a stroke. i Seaton was chairman of Seaton Publishing Co. of Manhattan, the company that owns The Manhattan Mercury, and was chairman of the parent company of Manhattan radio stations KMAN and KMKF. The Seaton Media Group expanded to include newspapers, radio and television stations in Kansas, versity. In 1961, Wayne moved to Albuquerque with his wife, Connie, now deceased.

He worked at an accountant for several companies before becoming a longtime staff member and retiree of the University of New Mexico. Among the numerous relatives and friends who will miss him are his wife, Teddy Dressel Hoobler; son, Timothy Wayne Hoobler; daughters, Tami Chang and Mary Elisa Montoya of Albuquerque and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gould and Mary Lynn Gould of Eureka, KS.
