The plan would consolidate the Federal Highway Administration, with 4,900 employees, and the Urban Transportation Administration, with 600. The merger would integrate DOT's public transit and highway programs and provide for more effective and efficient administration of these programs, Adams told a news conference. HOURS: MON FRI 8-6 SAT 8-3 The troop had gone hiking Friday to the top of the mountain and became caught in the snow storm Saturday. Five of the boys suffered frostbite. Bitter cold chilled the snow-swept areas, 1 below zero reading placing Cutbank, in its familiar role as the nation's cold spot. Early morning temperatures dipped below freezing from the Pacific Northwest to northern California and east to the Great Lakes and New England. Moderate to heavy rains fell throughout Arizona Saturday and into Sunday, causing normally dry desert washes and rivers to run.

Three people from Buckeye, were rescued by a National Guard helicopter Sunday morning from their car which became stranded as they tried to cross a normally dry river bed west of Phoenix. Dense fog across the Gulf of Mexico coast from Texas to Florida cut visibilities to zero in some areas..
