"A Gunfight" was filmed mostly in the Santa Fe area, with some bullfight scenes being filmed in Spain. The movie will open for public viewing in Albuquerque in several weeks. It will open June 9 in New York and Dallas June 9. The movie's plot is set in the late 1800's on the Texas border. Two men, played by Douglas and Cash, come to the predominantly Spanish-American village.

They are both liked by the villagers, but become rivals. "The Gunfight" is the result. i Vigil said he first heard of he planned movie on television last year. He called the producer, Ronnie Liibin of Los Angeles, and, after nego Members of the Jicarilla Apache Tribe will be trekking to Albuquerque tonight to go to the movies. The tribal members will be coming to a special invitation-only premiere of "A Gun-fight," starring Kirk Douglas and Johnny Cash.

Cash himself will be on hand for the showing of the motion picture, made with a $2 million investment by the Jicarrilla tribe. Special guests expected at the showing will include Commissioner of Indian Affairs Louis Bruce, representatives of the state's congressional delegation and Bureau of Indian Affairs representatives.
