"When I saw Templado Toss going away, I waited," Isaac said. As Templado Toss began to fade in the final turn, Joe Martinez positioned 9-1 Run John on the inside.

On the outside charged 11-1 Allosaki and 3-1 Fouled Up. "I was watching, waiting for that last push," Isaac said. And Fouled Up responded. Run John tried to keep up in the stretch, but settled for second. Clever Return, the 7-5 favorite, ran third.

There was no catching Fouled Up, who finished in 1:54 15. There was no breaking this promise. Family and friends flooded to the winner's circle. Therese walked onto the middle of the track, and whispered a prayer. Afterward, she thanked her father (longtime trainer Rey Mar-quez), Fouled Up's therapist (who provides laser treatment), and her good fortune.

With the winner's share of the $44,000 purse, she doesn't have to work an extra job this winter. And, while Fouled Up was being escorted back to the barn, she thanked her husband with a long kiss. "I love her a lot," Isaac said. rein, and all recorded and unrecorded special assessments and taxes that Ml may be due. NOTICE OF FORECLOSURE SALE Respectfully submitted! Gary Smaa Special Master 801 Locust NE Suite T-1168 Albuquerque, NM 87102 (505) 247-8020 A man makes certain promises to the woman he loves.

Sometimes promises break. And sometimes Isaac Flores waited a whole year for a chance to keep his word to his wife. And then he waited a little longer. Fouled Up, a 7-year-old gelding, won the lVa-mile State Fair Handicap on the meet's closing day Monday. Patient jockey Isaac Flores made sure of that.

For years, trainer Therese Flores has worked her horses in the morning, then worked various other jobs to help make ends meet in a rough racing business. Last year, with Isaac aboard, Fouled Up ran second in the State Fair Handicap as a 26-1 longshot. "Don't worry, babe," Isaac told Therese, "I'll get it for you next year." On the day of the race, Therese was a little concerned. It had nothing to do with her gelding. She and Isaac had Fouled Up ready.

She was afraid the 12-horse field might make the lane too congested. But Tell's Brite Spot, winner of the 7-furlong E.T. Springer scratched early. Then, three minutes before post time, Dart (who was 9-2 at the time) scratched. "When the gate broke," Isaac said, "my horse was alert." But it was 16-1 Templado Toss who went out fastest.

Vickie Small-wood had the 7-year-old chestnut out front by 10 lengths in the back stretch. The half went in 46 45 IRVING, Texas Jimmy Johnson finally got his first NFL shutout as a result of one of the most dominant defensive efforts in Dallas Cowboys history. "We used to get a lot of them at Miami," Johnson said. "You don't get many in the NFL. I'd like to get them on a regular basis, but it just doesn't happen that often.

It was a great way for us to bounce back from our loss in Philadelphia." The Cowboys held the Seattle Seahawks to only 62 yards total offense and six first downs in a 27-0 victory Sunday, sacking two Seattle quarterbacks seven times. Safety Ray Horton also returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown. The previous all-time low yardage total for an opponent was 63 by Green Bay in 1965. Seattle had only 24 yards passing. It was the first regular-season shutout for the Cowboys since they began 1978 by beating Baltimore 38-0.

The Cowboys went to the Super Bowl that year. "They just hammered us. They beat us and they beat us bad." Seattle wide receiver Louis Clark said. "When the ball was kicked off we took total control," Dallas safety James Washington said. "Nobody was thinking shutout.

We were, thinking about playing football and having fun." Linebacker Robert Jones, who put Seattle quarterback Dan McGwire Attorney for New Mexico Vineyards. Inc. WILLIAM F. DAVIS ASSOC A. Chris W.

Now it has its own professional lineup. to the buildings, improvements streets, alleys, easements, passage ways, water, water-courses, nghts Once the game is over, there also is the option of getting a complete play-by-play printout and a box score patterned after the real thing. PLB lists at $59.95, but can be found for considerably less at most outlets around town. GRAND PRIX UNLIMITED: GPU has been on the market for a few years, but recently was updated. Like most computer racing games, GPU cannot compare to the Nintendo-type offerings.

It simply does not create the same type of action. Still, GPU has its moments. Once the player gets used to the race course visibility which is very difficult the game is fun. The player has a choice of five cars which he can modify 10 courses, plus a number of other goodies from the squeal of tires to a track map that shows where the racer is at any given time to engine noise. The game also has various difficulty levels.

Beginners should use the option that allows the race car to pretty much stay on the track unless he makes a hard turn at the wrong time or hits another car. The tendency is to try to go too fast, forgetting this is Grand Prix racing, not a drag race. Don't be surprised to find yourself qualifying 20 miles an hour faster than the big name drivers if you can keep your car on course. Grand Prix Unlimited plays extremely true when controlled with a joystick, though finding the option liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any way Micro Sports a small company out of Hixson, has come up with another big winner in "Pro League Baseball." PLB captures the same excitement and plays in similar fashion to the company's other two sports games, Pro League Football and Ail-American College Football. The creator of all three games, Dave Holt, knows his sports, knows team's tendencies, knows who can play and who can't, and blends them all together for realistic play.

I had one person tell me his college football game picked bowl winners last season odds included. Pro League Baseball puts the player in the manager's chair, not on the mound or at the plate. Some players will not like this aspect, preferring to make pitches or swing the bat. But in PLB the managerial options are broad enough, it makes for exciting baseball. A major convenience is, the entire game and set up can be done with the mouse.

PLB allows for single exhibition games using the complete 1991 American and National League rosters, or the players can set up a league, draft his own team and even make trades. The game also can be played by modem, so if a friend across town feels like a little friendly competition, it's possible. On offense, the manager can chose what he wants to do at the plate, the type of base running he appertaining, and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues and prolits thereof. AND TOGETHER WITH all right Another Accolade offering is two; new golf courses to go with Jack; Nicklaus Golf, Signature Edition.1 Both courses come in the samel title and interest of said defendants as LEGAL NOTICE The Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority (AMAFCA) seeks competitive sealed proposals for professorial services as financial advisor. Whether you need a computer or a programmer, Classified has what you're looking for! Just call 823-4444 grounds crew out of its budget? There are many members of the national media following Marshall Faulk in his quest for the Heisman Trophy. UNM did nothing to enhance its image with the condition of that field. I looked for things that would be progressive over what has taken place at UNM the past few years. However, what I saw were the same penalties that have occurred the past few years, a quarterback running for his life-, and defensive backs nowhere near receivers. Can UNM take a snap without someone being called for illegal procedure? I also read where the Lobos had Air Force down 22-0 at the half and 32-12 after three quarters only to lose the game 33-32.

As Yogi Berra would say: "it's deja-vu all over again." JOHN O'MARA San Diego one radio talk show host called the field a "cow pasture." The San Diego Union-Tribune's Tom Krasovic and Nick Canepa had a few comments, too. Some of the words used by Krasovic to describe the Lobos were "feeble" and "meager." Canepa called the UNM defense "pathetic" and added "Marshall (Faulk), I'm convinced, could have rushed for 400 yards through this oatmeal Canepa then wrote "New Mexico had no business scoring at all" and gave the Lobos a rousing roar of approval by stating "If New Mexico were a boat, it wouldn't be afloat." Canepa wasn't through yet, however. He boarded a plane the morning after the SDSU-UNM game and covered the NFL game between the San Diego Chargers and Seattle Seahawks. Toward the beginning of his Monday morning column he wrote "Seattle may be the NFL's University of New Mexico." Harsh words by Mr. Canepa.

Maybe he got caught in one of those famous Albuquerque "orange barrel traffic jams" or was kept awake by a group of partying balloonists at his hotel. In any case, I watched the game out here on Prime Ticket and I must say the field looked horrendous. Did UNM leave the fact that the girls do not generate enough money to offset the cost of the Pit and now, we've got it fixed good. If they couldn't fill it with Friday and Saturday time slots do they believe they will be able to fill it on Monday and Tuesday? In addition, people from out of town will not be able to come and stay that many days. The message they are sending LOUD and CLEAR is that it is so important to play in the Pit that it matters not whether or not there are any spectators there.

So they'll have their Pit and no noise. for one, hate to see such selfishness and will boycott the tournament now and in the future. RAMON MARQUEZ Las Cruces UNM Brunt of Jokes I THOUGHT I WOULD pass along the high regard in which the UNM football program is held by the San Diego media. The Lobos have been ripped the past week by the local television, radio and newspaper media. When there is talk about inept football, the talk focuses on UNM.

There were several comments made about the condition of the field at University Stadium and Pit's Name, Role Elicit Strong Words WHEN A SPEAKER or writer says, "I rest my case," it means that the other side should be allowed equal time. In regard to the naming of the basketball court in honor of Bob King, I agree. The name "PIT" is known all over the basketball world, even in foreign countries. To change that name to honor any person would lose all the notoriety it has gained. Mr.

King deserves honor and "King's Court" is very appropriate. LOUIS G.
