Euphemla, Ohio. Because cf total Ignorance of how to care for myself when verging into womanhood, and from taking cold when going to school, I suffered from a displacement, and each month I had severe pains and nausea which always meant a lay-off from work for two to four days from the time I was 16 years old. I went to Kansas to live with my sister and while there a doctor told me of the Pinkham remedies but I did not use them then as my faith in patent medicines was limited. After my sister died I came home to Ohio to live and that has been my home for the last 18 years. "The Change of Life came when I was 47 years old and about this time I saw my physical condition plainly described in one of your advertisements.

Then I began using Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound and I cannot tell you or any one the relief it gave roe in the first three months. It put me right where I need not lay off every month and during the last IS years I have not paid out two dollars to a doctor, and have been blest with excellent health of a wo- 3an Mortally Wou nded Fires at Adversary. A MARRYING RKCORD. One Bigamist Secured One Hundred Wives, Eight of Them Doing Vnlted to Him in One Week.

Chicago Women, as a rule, are more given to the marrying habit than men, though no woman has reached the world's marrying record made by George AVitzoff, the notorious bigamist, whose marriages totaled over 100. In one week he went through eight ceremonies. Almost as strange a case was that of a Russian woman condemned not long ago to Siberia. Sha had been married to twenty husbands and had treated them all alike, running awav from each in turn and taking all their portable property with her. She was a most attractive woman und highly educated.

A woman named Rchmeyer, of Pennsylvania, was sent to prison not long ago for bigamy. Though she was only 27 years old, she had married twelve men in ten years. Her only comment in court was that she had liked them all. A Boer woman named De Beers, whose sixth husband died recently, Is the proud mother and stepmother of forty-nine children, while her grandchildren number 270. Four of her six husbands were widowers, all with fairly large families when she married them.

FILL IN COUPON AND MAIL TO selection of a marriage mate was the declaration of Dr. Evangeline Young, founder of the School for Eugenics, the only eugenic school the United States, when she addressed a banquet of the Congress of Women's Clubs of Western Pennsylvania at the Ft.

Pitt Hotel last night. The banquet was attended by prominent men as well as women. Dr, Young said: "We apostles of eugenic marriages have not forgotten as often as has been charged that there Is such a thing as romance. This will always be as long as there are men and women. Other things than love and propinquity enter largely into modern marriage, such as money, conven-ipnee and social position.

Why not let plain, common sense play a part? Surely it will not kill romance for a woman to choose the father of her children with some consideration of his physical fitness. Young women and men of marriageable age are thirsting for Instruction on the subject of fitting family life and it is to the credit of the medical profession that we have been so slow to give It. Doctors themselves need Instruction along these lines as much as any one else." Dr. Lawrence Litchfield dropped a bomb by declaring there Is no placr for women In the general practice of medicine. He said, however, that there is a field for them In research work and In the care of the Insane and feeble-minded.

Dr. Litchfield held that women are not fitted for the many objectionable features of general medical practice, Panama Rubber Kindly reserve for me shares of stock In your company with 1 share of Common aa bonus with each 4 ahares of Preferred purchased. Jewish Chronic': Jerusalem is passing through a terrihle economic crisis Just now For some weeks the town has been flooded with metalllcs, the Turkish coin most generally used In marketing. Tripoli has Italian money now, and sent Its metalllcs to Constantinople, hundreds of sacks tf which were poured into Asia Minor. Now Salonika and other places have Rent metalllcs into Syria, as they also have no more use for Turkish money. Metallica were sold at Salonika six weeks ago at the rate of a big pailful for a franc, and Jerusalem money changers, who had been buying them up made hay while their sun shone. Disaster soon followed.

The Ottoman Bank also received a large consignment, and panic began to seize the people when the coin value fell below par; shopkeepers refused to take the metalllcs on any condition. The poor are starving, and respectable people, who have never accepted charity are standing with shivering rhlldren in the streets begging for bread. WH1TELAW ADY. Lost His Ranch by Visitation of Gol. Gen. Benlamin Bunker of St. Joe. was appointed United States District Attorney for the newly-organized Territory of Nevada in the early sixties.

He descended from the overland stage at Carson City with a small valise and a largo supply of self-appreciation. There was present in Carson, awaiting the organization of the Territorial court as brilliant a bar as ever assembled In even a metropolitan city. Every mine on the Comstock lode was In litigation and the fees to lawyers were in proportion to the im mense value of properties Involved; Nearly a Fish Story. New-York Tribune: That a swift current in a mountain trout stream kept his gold watch, wound up end running for two years is the assertion of Albert Miller of Chalk Hill, who lost hla time-keeper in the Btream two years ago. When the watch was picked out of the sand by Mrs.

Miller recently near the spot where her husband lost It, the dial allowed nearly the correct time. Mrs. Miller, while gathering wild flowers, noticed a glittering object In the clear water of the stream. She investigated and found it to be her husband's lost watch. She was greatly surprised to find the watch running and keeping good time.

Mrs. Miller said that the piece was lying in such a position pool 'tmn 'rjoi juj Jai(jn it that the fast running water had evidently acted as winder and kept the movements going. It has preferred to rely upon the great Book which Is the fountain and source of all law, The Bible says that when the Lord had completed the creation Of the earth he looked upon his work and pronounced it good, Aa the Creator He had the right to alter His work at his own will and pleasure. Then Pick Sides came forward and said: "Here, general, you have earned your We have had 950,0 worth of fun out of till. We have made up a purse for that amount.

Bunker took tho sack of coin without a word, went to the everland stage ofllce. paid his passage to St. Joe, resigned his District Attorneyship. and the next morning was on his way East. In the making of a smart-looking, stylish Overcoat, there's a knack which isn't learned In a day.

I've been at It since 1886. Every year hundreds of worth-while men give me their assurance that a Gordan made Overcoat baa the nans, the quality, that last final touch that distinguishes It in a crowd. Styles this (all range from dreBS and smart traveling coats to novelty Coverta, Chesterfields la hard finished fabrics are again popular. Daring departures In Motor Coat are tow comblntng smartness with comfort. The best are of smoother finish thaa those worn last Many have straps, close sleeves and collars; cut to full ulster length.

To apeak the truth, the variety of styles this fall unusually generous. Likewise my fabrics die host that England and America 'affords. If you are very exacting ia yoiir attire-why not see Gordan owner in the Ohplr owned a ranch acreage tilled, the minerals mined, the manufactories operated, and the financial returns obtained, all of which loom lurgo in comparison with the samo Items In many other States to carry our comparisons a little further and work out ratios in detail. The following comment In this vein by tho Fresno Republican furnishes fcod for thought: "California's raw and manufactured products amounted last year to over a billion dollars according the annual report of State Statistician George Robertson. The division was practically even, being half a billion for natural products, Including minerals, and half a billion for manufactured products.

"These figures are staggering, but they -become less so when we consider other figures equally startling. For Instance, the State of Iowa produces, In corn end hogs alone, a half a billion dollars a year equal to all the farm and orchard and vltlcultural and livestock products of California, plug all Its lumber and other forest products, and all Its gold and oil and other minerals. This Is not the total product of Iowa, but Just lw corn and hogs. In its total products, natural and manufactured, It about equals California, though of course the proportion of manufactures Is less. "All of which suggests not merely the Mtupendoua Importance of corn and hogs, but also the enormous magnitude of the.

things which California does not yet do. If a State of the unlimited natural resources of California has as yet developed thorn only to the point that their total products equal the corn and ho of Iowa, then what have still left to do far out-measures what we have already accomplished. "And incidentally, one of the most Important of th resources for the development of California Is precisely the profit on tho corn snd hogs of Iowa and the very excellent people who have the lmelllger.ee to spend that profit in California." ever it goes. Now, can't you get him off?" "Sure," said Bunker, "I will teacl the trespasser what law is." "Before you came," said Sides, "I hired Hal Clayton In the case. He will help you, but you, of course, will be the leading lawyer.

He began the suit lapt week, and Dall hired Handy Baldwin. Tho regular court won't be hole for a month yet Hal Clayton and Sandy Baldwin have agreed to try the caMe before Gov. Roop as referee. They have agreed on the fact, about which there Is no dispute. It all turns on a question of law.

Gov. Roop is a square man. The case will come up tomorrow morning. Hal Clayton will call on you this evening and explain the matter fully." Gen, Bunker agreed to take charge of the case and the next morning accompanied Sides' to the Courthouse. Word of what was going on had pawed and the courtroom was crowded.

Hal Clayton made the opening argument for Dick Sides with a speech that ranged over the history of land tltlee from Noah down. He was followed by Bandy Baldwin for the defendant. Bandy Baldwin poured ridicule upon the plaintiff and his case. He was repeatedly Interrupted by Clayton, the He was passed an! an oral challenge to a duel with bowle knives passed to take place at the expiration of tho hearing. At the afternoon session Bunker closed the debate with a two-hours' speech.

Every time he made a point he received vociferous applaui-e, which often lasted until Gov. Roop threatened to put the entire audience In Jail unless order should be maintained. Everybody comprehended tho Joke except Bunker, who never mistrusted that the cheers he received were not a tribute to hla forensic powers. At the conclusion of Bunker's argument Gov. Hoop announced that he would take the case under advisement and render his decision after supper.

The abnormal eirot'nm of Bunker offered an opportunity for. fun which Dick was not slow to embrace.

He waited on Bunker and said: "Squire. I have a case whlch I would like to have you take charge of." Bunker replied: "Certainly, sir. It the government Is not a party to It, I can accept employment." Dick led him to the door and pointed to Slide Mountain, ten miles away. "Last month," said he, "I had at the foot of that mountain one of the best pieces of land In the Valley. Capt Dai! had a ranch just above mine.

In the big storm that occurred Just before you came here the underpinning of the mountain gave way, and Dall's ranch elid down on top of mine and covered it up, sny, to eight feet deep.
