Blanche Calloway Jones, sister of bandleader Cab Calloway and the first woman to lead a major American dance band, in Baltimore. Virgil L. Speelman, 50, of 776 Hancock died Dec. 16. A native of Richeyville, SpS he was an Akron resident for 35 years. He was a retired employee of Goodyear with 25 years service, and was a veteran of Korean Affair.

He was a member of the Goodyear Local No. 2 U.R.W.A., the Kenmore Group A. and past president of the Kenmore High School Booster Club. He is survived by wife, Helen; sons, Virgil L. John, Steven, and Richard, all of Akron; mother, Mrs.

Woodward CLINTON Clayton E. Woodward, 71, of died Saturday afternoon at his home on Luna Lake, near Clinton, following an extended illness. He was born near Creston on September 2, 1907. He was the son of Franklin and Mary Eakins Woodward. He married Oberine Ed-ington on October 26, 1931.

He made his home in Clinton for the past 36 years. He retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass, Barberton, following 31 years service. He is survived by wife; sons, Gerald Gene, of Richfield and Raymond Dale, of Crown Point, brother, Myron, of Lodi; sister, Mrs. William (Leva) Frederick, of Florida; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, brothers, Kenneth and Linton, and sister, Lillian.
