Death was caused by a heart attack, the family said. I Mr. Wehner, born in Hazelton, retired in 1967 from the curred on U.S. 13 about 3 miles north of Smyrna. He was taken to Kent General DO YOU THINK THERE ARE HYPOCRITES IN THE CHURCH? Is this your reason for not coming to worship? It is often a handy excuse for not attending church.

But there are hypocrites everywhere where you work, for example. Yet you don't stay home from work. Jesus openiy called the Pharisees hypocrites, but He did not skip worship services because of them. Every organization or institution has its hypocrites: the 'phonies and facade-makers. Actually, we are all hypocrites, aren't we, with our little pretenses? And we can be hypocrites even after we know Jesus as our personal Saviour from sin.

As Paul said, we do battle with our old sinful, hypocritical selves. In Romans 7:15 he said, "My own behavior baffles me. For I find myself not doing what I really want to do but doing what I really loathe." (Phillips Translation). Yes, we admit that as Christians the phony side of us r.hows through too often. We are many times ashamed of our lack of love, patience, tolerance, and honesty.

But we are thankful that Christ forgives us these sins if we ask Him to. He promises to help us overcome our hypocrisy so that each day we grow spiritually in love for God and our neighbor Our Saviour Who loved men regardless of position or race is our example as well as our Saviour. We promise that if you come worship with us we will truly try to give you a warm welcome and make you feel at home. We cannot guarantee that you will find no hypocrites in our church. We do guarantee that the Gospel we preach is not hypocritical or 'phony' but rings with the truths of "Thus saith the Lord." See our ad listing our services on the Church Page.
