LITKENHOUS Rer U. S. Pat. Office Notre Dame is the official Litkenhous Difference by Score Ratings champion of 1949. The undefeated Irish finished the season with a margin of 6.4 power points over California.

The final figure for the South Bend Dowerhouse is 117.7, the highest numerical rating for a Litkenhous champion since 1945. California, the Pacific Coast Conference standard-bearer in the Rose Bowl, wound up the season with a rating of 111.3 to nip Oklahoma by 1.1 point. Minnesota, the Litkenhous king in the Big Ten is fourth at 108.6 and Stanford fifth at 106.6. Rounding out the top ten are Army in sixth, Michigan in seventh, Ohio State in eighth, Michigan State in ninth and Southern California in tenth. The Big Ten and the Pacific Coast loop grabbed off most of the top ten places, the Western Conference placing four teams and the Coast league three.

Notre Dame's national crown is its third since 1934. The Irish were top dogs in 1946 and 1943. They were runner-up the past two years to Michigan; the Wolverines won last season with 114.1. The big Litkenhous trophy which now resides at Ann Arbor, will be transferred to South Bend. Bowl teams finishing in the top 25 were Rice (Cotton Bowl) in 12th, Kentucky (Orange Bowl) in 13th, Louisiana State (Sugar Bowl) in 14th, OTHER STATIONS-News matter of strategy and patriotism, if you will divest itself of 'me-too-ism and go to the people with a program clearly and unmistakably in opposition to that now offered by WCBS-Phil Cook Show Splinters Doody Jim Quintan Caravan Clock the Bank WOR-Dorothy.

This was a successful venture last year, and it is hoped that enough money will be made this year to contribute materially to the playground fund. Jewel M. Dauphin, director of the building and grounds committee, announced that he had thoroughly looked into the possibility of having the county take over Collins Park roads, but that they were not built to county specification and thus the county cannot be responsible for their maintenance and repair. Expenditures of various commit tees were read by Mr. Zell, and payment approved.

The board discussed the possibility of purchasing a new mimeograph, machine and building bus shelters. The association yesterday sent a letter to Gov. Elbert N. Carvel, criticizing the recent solution of the trolley strike as a travesty and rank imposition on the trolley-riding public" and as hardly the solution of a fair-minded group of men. The Collins Park Painting Club vill meet tonight at the home of Mrs.

Norman G. Kingsley. The club is devoting a part of its time to the packaging of candy for the children's Christmas party, sponsored by the civic association, which will be held on Saturday. 9 A. M.
