Schultz Pleasant Hill Lanes on Newport Gap Pike has closed its doors on summer weekends since the early 1980s. It was just too difficult to find reliable help and open play waned as winter leagues ended. That's all going to change in this summer. "This will be the first summer that I can remember that we'll be open," said Cheryl Woodward, a third generation majority owner of the 24-lane center. According to Woodward, weekend action in April has stayed significantly stronger than in past years.
