PAGE TWO TUNE IN AY 1400 Kiwanis Club Members Hear Appeal for Support of Seal Sale by D. Harvey Phillips Harvey Phillips, demonstrated the the annual Christmas meeting of the service first vicepresident of the Kiwanis Club, importance, and urged the support, of seal sale at the weekly luncheon club yesterday noon at The Emery. PHONE: 4R3 Funeral Services For J. Brooder Held on Tuesday Largely attended funeral services for John M. Brooder, 64, of 18 Elm president of the Producers Bank and Trust Company, who died Saturday at the Bradford Hospital, were held Tuenday morning. A prayer service was hold at the home at 8:30 o'clock followed by Solemn High Mass of Requiem at 9 o'clock at St. Bernard's Church.

Officers of the mass were the Rev. Martin Grady, assistant pastor of St. Bernard's Ohurch, celebrant; the Rev. G. Carlton Ritchie, pastor of St.

Francis Parish, deacon; and the Rev. Frererick Reilly, of St. Bernard's Church, sub -deacon. The Rev. John Kennedy, pastor of st.

Anthony's Church, Lewis Run, WAS seated in the sanctuary. Alex Allard, organist of the church, directed the Men's Choir in a program of music. Employes of the bank attended the funeral mass in a body, Honorary pallbearers were the following officials of the bank: Francia M. Nash, W. Grow, H.

M. Digol, J. Russell Case, T. Burton, A. J.

Douglas, James T. Shea. 8. Ashton Tull and Harvey S. Rodebaugh.

Active pallbenrers wore the following employes of the bank: 0. 0. Conger, James Nunemaker, George Tiffany, John Hannon, William Brarch, Carl Engel, Norman Glady and Francis Corignani. Following the services here the body was taken to Elyria, to tho Welsh Funeral Home where further services will be held today. Burial will take place this morning at St.

Regular, Extra Dividends Made By South Penn The Board of Directors of South Penn Oil Company yesterday declared a regular fourth quarterly dividend of $.25 per share and an extra 'dividend of $2.50 per share on the $12:50 par value capital stock of the Company, payable December 1947 to shareholders of record at the ciose of business December 6, 1947. Oil Production In Past 4 Weeks Shows Decrease Crude oll production in the Bradfora field during the past four weeks averaged 30,982 barrels daily, according to the Bradford District Pennsylvania Oil Producers Association. This was a decrease of 819 barrels bolow the dally averngo production for the four-week perlod beginning Oct. Production in the Bradford field averaged 30,441 barrels dally for the past week. This was an increase of 528 barrels over the dally average of 29,913 barrels for the week ending, Nov. 15.

Allegany field production averaged 9,313 barrels for the week ending Nov. 22, resulting in an increase of 214 barrels above the daily average of 9,099 barrels for the week ending Nov. 15. Haseley, 34, of 1657 Cleveland Niagara Falls, N. was instantly killed yesterday morning at 8 o'clock in a hunting accident in the nearby town of Willing, State Police from the Wellsville Barracks reported. Police said. Haseley, an employe of the Vanadium of Niagara Falls, was felled by a shotgun blast fired by Charles Henry Joyce, 18, of RD 2, Andover, N. Y.

Joyce told police that snow was falling heavily at the time and due to poor visibility he mistook Haseley for a deer. Coroner Eugene Brace of Allegany County, N. said the slug entered Haseloy's right arm two inches under the shoulder, passed through both lungs, severed the main artery above the heart and continued out his left side. It was the coroner's verdict that Insufficiont avidenco did not warrant placing charges against Joyce. However State Police from the Wellsville barracks are continuing their investigation.

William LaCour, Former Resident, Dies in Salamanca Salamanca William LaCour, 120 Merden Salamanca, N. retired locomotive engineer of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, and a former resident of Bradford, died at the family residence on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1947. Mr. LaCour was born in Emportum, and for a number of years resided in Bradford before moving here to make his home some years ago.

Deceased served as engineer on the and O. between the Sninmanen and Buffalo division. He was a member of the Salamanca of L. E. Lodge No.

254, and the Bradford Lodge of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 124. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude LaCour, of Salamanca; two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Irish, Buffalo, and Mrs.

Henry Harvey, Salamanca, and one son, Kenneth LaCour, of Erle, Funeral services will be' conducted at the family residence here on Friday at 1:30 p. m. and at 2 p. m. at the St.

The ordinance warns local citizens to clean all snow and ice from the sidewalks in front of their lot, restdence or tenement or place of buslness within 12 hours after the snow has fallen or the ice accumulated.

Wave of Terror Returns in Italy Rome -(P)- Political terror, dormant over the weekend, burst out again in Southern Italy yesterday with two slayings, rioting and the sacking of anti-Communist political party offices. While last week's strife centered in Apulla in the heel of the Italian boot, the new outbreaks were in Calabria, in the toe. A minor outburst occurred in Rome last night when a bomb was thrown from a passing automobile against a building in which the Communist newspaper Unita 18 printed. There were no casualties and the only damage was a few broken windows. One newspaper said "Disorders spread throughout Calabria," and another headline reported "Deaths, devastation, armored cars as the result of direct action in Calabria."
