The County Treas- iier then conies and demands a huckster's cense of This was paid by Webbert ud be then brought suit against the county recover. A case stated was made and udge Sadler decided against the plaintiff nd directed that judgment with costs he ntered for the defendant, the county. C. S. driest queries when is the proper time to roll oats? Peter Taylor pielers to roll after it is np unless heavy rains have come and a cinst has been formed, then he wonkl roll about the time it is coming np to break the crust. Israel Garretson would roll alter np 4 or 5 inches thinks it does not hurt to roll them down but does it good. Also when is the right time to roll corn.

Some prefer to roll jnst previous to the first woiking to level oil and mellow np the soil and break tbe crust that bos been formed. Peter Taylor queries what is the best remedy to destroy caterpillars It is thought the test remedy ia to take them off while small with slick or pole inserted in their tent and twist np and then destroy, not leaving any to become full grown to produce another generation. I. Garretson says blackbirds are protected by law. He wishes to know if they pull np corn and do injury to crops if the law would punish any one who wonld kill aud destroy nests aud their yonng 1 It is the opinion though they do damage they also do a great deal of good by destroying cut worms, aud that tbe oO'ender it informed on would be liable to line of $1(1 or imprisonment iu county jail or both, Deferred question, what is a good ration for winter dairying? Garretson says 'i corn and cob meal aud oats chop, with 1 qt.

cotton seed meal added, morning and evening. Second question, what is the outlrok for wool-growing--will the McKiuley bill make it more profitable than it was before it was passed'! Wm. Wbilaon thinks it an advantage to the wool- grower to have wool protected by t-iriff. It is thought injurious to health iu re-papering rooms to have new paper put ou over the old, it making a good place for breeding germs ol disease. Some of the members are doubtful if papering is at all healthful; they think rooms while-washed preferable.

Aaron I. Weidner thinks it well for faimers to be able to repair harness aud do little jobs ol carpenter work, bnt as a rule it wonld be better to employ a mechanic to do the repairing, they would do it quicker and better; the tartner would waste more time than would pay a niechanicto do the work. This brought out a lively di.scu.ssmij, Israel Gar- ri'tsou taking the ground that the farmer should do all kinds of repairing, mending buckets, harness, boots and shoes, painting, even to mending wagous. Association then adjourned to meet at Israel Garret-sou's June Id, 1PU2. SECRETARY.
