Pennsylvania's College Cage Stars PONY League Opens 9th Flag Race April 30 Bradford Gets 13 Home Games In First Month THE FIVE FLAYERS pictured above have been selested as the standout college basketball stars of 1947 in" Pennsylvania. Jot Lord (6-1) of Villanova and Fanl Coront (6-4) of Lock Haven Teachers were named at (he forwards with Norm Buti (6-3) of St Joseph at center and Joe Camlc (6-1) ol Duquesne and Harry Donovan (6-1) of Muhlenberg at the guards. Donovan is a sophomore, Buti and Lord are seniors while Coront and Camic are juniors.

Art Giancotti Has 233-627; G. Rook 621 Sensational bowling totals rolled in league play at the Recreation Alleys last night by Art Giancotti and George Rook. Giancotti fired a 627 series on games of 200, 233 and 194 as the Marche Club grabbed three from the Jobbitt-Slingerland five in Class A. Rook had 621 on games of 185, 216 and 220 as the Partiss Garage divided with the Loblaws in Class A competition. The B.

S. C. rolled 2752 to take four points from the Sunnybrooks with Pete Boyle's 565 and Pat Costello's 561 high. Edward Fleming's 563 led the losers. The Como Grill came through lor three points from the Penelecs wads the Coca blanked the Walter Oil for four points.

Lockport and Hamilton open their lome seasons on May 1, but the Clean and Hornell Inaugurals wUl be delayed until May 2. Bradford plays at Olean on May 2. The April 30 date is an early starting time for the PONY which will extend its schedule through Sept. 7. BRADFORD Blue Wings have 13 home games in May, 16 in June and 15 in each" of the months of July and August.

The Wings also have received 11 Sunday dates. Bradford shares the July 4th holiday with Olean as in the past and also the traditional Labor Day twin bill. AFTER the Olean opener, Hornell will be the next team to show here. Hamilton comes along the next two days to. be followed by Batavia, Wellsville, Jamestown and Lockport.

Barring weather postponements, local fans will see all league teams here at least once during the opening month of the race. In the meantime, Business Manager John Wise of the Blue Wings is making final preparations for opening of spring training April 1 at Dover, Delaware. Wise plans to leave Bradford about March will serve as general business boss for the four-club Phillie camp which also Includes Schenectady, Carbondale and Dover teams of the Phillie chain.
