Cites Danger of Reds Father Lerniban cited the danger of the infiltration of Communism into the schools. "Communism has behind it the armed strength of the Soviet Union whose ultimate policy is world revolution," he said. He said the big danger is that Communism will advance into many countries including the United States. Communism attracts some people, the priest continued, because the Soviet Union stands for atheism which certain elements accept. "In some school systems, God is not mentioned and the appeal of atheism is attracting some of the most brilliant minds in our country." Turning to the evil effects wrought by atheism.

Father Lernihan listed the use of lies and deception to confuse some brilliant minds and disloyalty to this government and country 1 which ensues. Measures Urged "The purpose of atheism," he said, "is to corrupt minds of people and distract them." he said. He urged measures to counteract this trend in the educational field and a building up of a defense through religion. Addressing the graduates briefly. Msgr.

Wiersbinski said that tion day is a "day of happiness and a day of sorrow." "It is a time of a breaking of ties which meant happiness and security." he said. "Let your choice of life be Americanism." he pleaded. "Let no foreign 'ism' set foot here." He urged them to show their gratitude to their parents by their manner of life. "Let your way of life not be anti-God. anti-country.

or anti-home." he said. "Let it be gratitude to God who created you. to the country which protects you and to the home which shelters you." The graduates closed the program with the singing of the "Jubilate Deo."
