A memorial service will be Thursday at 11 a.m at New Castle United Methodist Church.

Masonic services will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware New Castle. Burial will be one half-hour prior to the memorial service in the New Castle United Methodist Church yard. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to New Castle United Methodist Church, 510 Delaware New Castle 19720. Johnnie Torrence MOUNT DORA, Fla.

Johnnie Torrence, 90, of D. 1, Mount Dora, formerly of Larey, died of cancer Friday at Orlando City Hospital, Orlando. Mr. Torrence worked for many years in Lake Gem, Fla. as a boat builder.

He retired in 1958. He is survived by his wife, Lula; three sons, Oscar, John and Enman, all of Wilmington, and two daughters, Lucille Williams and Ida Mosley, both also of Wilmington. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Greater Mount Carmel Church, Tangerine. Burial will be in Tangerine.

Dr. Magalong was a guest lecturer for the Holy Angels Catholic Catechism and Devotions Program. He was an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist at Holy Angels Catholic Church.

He was a member of the Philippine-American Association of Delaware. He is survived by his wife, Jose-fina a son, Edward J. of Annan-dale-on-Hudson, N.Y.; two daughters, Leslie Anne Magalong and Melissa Marie Magalong, both at home; a brother, Mario of Manila; his mother, Carmen Magalong of Quezon City, Philippines, and three sisters, Josefina Garcia of Manila, and Nena Gubatan and Milagrosa Magalong, both of Quezon City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Possum Park Road, Newark.

Friends may call this evening at Doherty-Wickersham Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Mr. Slone worked in the mainte- nance department at the Chrysler Newark assembly plant for 31 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of UAW Local 1183. 1 He is survived by two sons, James D. of New Castle and Clifton A.

Warwick Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. Ann Szalkowski Kelleher Ann Szalkowski Kelleher, 72, of 514 S. Rodney died of natural causes Monday at St. Francis Hos-; pital.

Mrs. Kelleher retired in 1972' from the trimming department of the Allied Kid Co. in Wilmington after 40 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Wilmington.

Her husband, John, died in 1979. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Longobardi of Penn Acres; a son, John, also of Penn Acres; two sisters, Elsie Simeone and Margaret Shanahan, both of Wilmington; a brother, Walter Broszski, also of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 10:30 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Cedar and Clayton streets. Friends may call after 9 a.m.

Michael Joseph Carter Services for Michael Joseph Carter, who was killed early Sunday, will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Delaware City. Friends may call one hour before the service at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Delaware City. Burial will be in the Delaware City Cemetery. Mr.

Carter, 25, of 561 Hybridge St. Georges, was killed early Sunday in a head-on collision with another car on Cox Neck Road west of Delaware City. He was dead on arrival at the Delaware Division in Wilmington. He had worked as a bartender at Buckley's Tavern in Centerville, and at the Boothe House in New Castle since the fall of 1982. Earlier, he had been dairy manager at the Shop Bag grocery store in the Possum Park Shopping Center for eight years.

He is survived by his father and mother, Thomas N. and Martha with whom he lived; two brothers; Thomas N. with the U.S. Army in Darmstadt, Germany, and Brian at home. Giovanna Marino Earo BROOKHAVEN, Pa.

Giovanna "Jennie" Marino Earo, 88, of Brookhaven, died Sunday at home of congestive heart failure. Mrs. Earo's husband, John, died in 1970. Mr. and Mrs.

Earo owned and operated Earo's Imperial Bakery in Chester for 57 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and president of the St. Gabriel Society at the church, a member of the Italian American World War Veterans Post 17, and the sons of Italy, the Twelfth of October Lodge 486 and the Columbus Center Association, all in Chester. Born in Reggio, Calabria, Italy, she came to the U.S.

in 1919, settling in the Chester area. She is survived by five daughters, Catherine Thompson of Kentfield, Frances Conte of Chester, Carmela Garzia of Brookhaven, Rose Bock of Claymont, and Theresa Earo, with whom she lived; two brothers, Pietro Marino and Angelo Dardanella, both of Galina, Italy; a sister, Natalina Marino, also of Galina; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday morning at 9:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Mildred P. Carter Mildred P.

Carter, 77, formerly of 1015 Lancaster who had lived at the Emily P. Bissell Hospital for the past four years, died Thursday in the Delaware Division of respiratory collapse. Mrs. Carter, who retired eight years ago, worked at Ben's, Lancaster Avenue and Jackson Street for many years. Her husband, Earl, died in 1931.

She is survived by three sons, Harold D. of New Castle, Earl B. of Taft, Fla and Robert A. Sr. of Oak Orchard; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Jones QUARRYVILLE, Pa Alma M. Jones, 86, formerly of Wilmington, died of natural causes Sunday at the Quarryville Presbyterian Home, Quarryville, where she had lived for 10 years. Miss Jones was a secretary for the Du Pont Co. in Wilmington, for many years. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.

She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth J. Bennett of Dover, and Kathryn J. Warfield of the Methodist Country House, Wilmington; and a brother, E. Russell Jones, also of Wilmington. Memorial services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m.

19803, or to a favorite charity. Lawrence B. Massey SUDLERSVILL, Md. -Lawrence B. Massey, 64, of near Sudlersville, died of cancer Saturday at the General Division of the Wilmington (Del.) Medical Center.

Mr. Massey was a self-employed farmer on the farm where he grew up. He is survived by his wife, Jean a son, Richard B. of Sudlersville; a daughter, Jo Anne Massey of Galena; a sister, Carolyn DeRosa of Wilmington; and two grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m.

nf Cain Rue, Lambeth Riding.died of congestive heart failure Sunday in Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore, where he had been a patient for the past week. Dr. Magalong had operated his own practice in internal medicine on North Chapel Street in Newark since 1972. He was a 1959 cum laude graduate of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, the Philippines. He interned for two years at St.

Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and served his residency at Princeton (N.J.) Hospital. He served his residency in internal medicine at Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y., and William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. Dr. Magalong came to Delaware in 1971 as staff physician at the Veterans Hospital in Elsmere. Since 1972 he had run a private practice in internal medicine on North Chapel Street in Newark.

He was also a staff physician at Union Hospital in Elkton, Md. He was a member of the Delaware Medical Society and the New Castle County Medical Society, IN MEMORIAM CARNEY In loving memorv of my mother, Mrs. Elsie L. Wells, a driversalesman for the Reliable Laundry Highland Park, 111., for many years, retired in 1954. He moved to Wilmington in 1976. He was a 50-year member of A.O. Fay Masonic Lodge in Highland Park. He is survived by his wife, Anne a son, A.

Thompson services Services will be Wednesday for Joseph Thompson, 13, of 1213 New Marshallton, accidentally killed Sunday afternoon when he touched an electrical wire while climbing a utility pole in the Kiamensi Gardens development.

Thompson was a seventh grader at St. John the Beloved parochial school on Milltown Road, Sherwood Park, where he was active in football, wrestling and track. He was a Wilmington native. Surviving are his parents, Royall A. and Winifred R.

Thompson; three brothers, Roy James M. and Paul and four sisters, Theresa Rosemarie, Annmarie, and Patricia all at home; his paternal grandmother, Blanche Thompson of Wilmington; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Mary Ruff of Klair Estates; and a maternal great-grandmother, Marie Becker of near Newark. Katherine T. McGee Katherine T. McGee, 68, of 111 Hermitage Road, Fairfax, was stricken at her home and died Sunday in the Delaware Division of a heart attack. Mrs. McGee was a member of the United Methodist Women of Alders-gate United Methodist Church and a former board member of the YWCA.

She is survived by her husband, Roy a daughter, Corra Lee Ellison of Fairfax; a sister, Margaret Ogden of Nashville, and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Alders-gate United Methodist Church, Concord Pike at Fairfax. Burial and viewing will be private. Edna Ann Thompson Edna Ann Thompson, 63, of 105 Carvel Manor Park Apartments, New Castle, died of cancer Friday at her home. Miss Thompson worked for 16 years as a chef at the lunch counter of Eckerd's drugstore, Ninth and Orange streets. She retired in 1981. There are no immediate survivors.
