SIX BEDFORD GAZETTE, BEDFORD, SEPTEMBER 30, 1948 Napier School To Conduct Display The Lincoln Consolidated school at Point will hold a display of all kinds of farm, home, garden and various other products at the school during the coming week. The Schellsburg Napier high school band, under the direction of Elwood Miller, will give a concert Wednesday evening, Oct. 6, and a motion picture shown by L. R. Mollenauer, county agent.

A cake walk, an auction sale, and sale of various refreshments will be made. Anyone who wishes to donate anything or having anything for display to help the school should contact. Mrs. L. O'Brien, Manns Choice R.

1: Rev. Blackburn Addresses The Schellsburg Lions Rev. Philip Blackburn of Fisher-: town was guest speaker at a meeting of the Schellsburg Lions club held Monday evening at the Ship. Rev. Blackburn discussed "Education or Chaos." It was announced that Vernon Nunamaker, senior in the agricultural course at Schellsburg high school, was one of 10 'boys chosen from 320 at Penn State to, judge cattle.

He was: at once assigned to the Finance Department of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he remained five years, and then transferred, to Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City, Utah. There, on May 30, 1931, he was married to Miss Irene Hunter of that city. They later were located at Fort MacArthur, San Pedro, where their daughter was born. He was then sent Chilkoot Barracks, Alaska, where he remained for some time.

With the outbreak of war, he went to Nome, and then to the post where he tragically encountered death, at St. Paul, PriIslands, after 17 years in the service of his country during war and peace. His wife and daughter, who now live at San Francisco, are coming east for the reburial here.
