Never mind. Nick Anthony, who announced his decision to leave WKDD (96.5-FM) only Thursday, has been hired to program Cleveland newstalk station WWWE (1100-AM).

He starts next week. Among his new duties: boss of "shock radio" host Gary Dee. Last week Anthony told his coworkers and the Beacon Journal that he was quitting to expand his part-time consulting business into a full-time job. He had even signed an agreement to add WKDD to his list of clients. The terms of Anthony's old WKDD contract prohibit him from working for a competitor for one year after leaving.

But WKDD waived the non-compete clause. The company "didn't want to stand in his way, even though contractually we could have," said WKDD General Manager Dick Lumenello. When Anthony was asked last week, point-blank, whether he he would be especially nervous about working with someone who will sit right across the hall from WDOK (102.1-FM), WWWE's sister station and a direct competitor of WKDD's.
