PAGE TWO BEDFORD GAZETTE, BEDFORD, Pa. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 1945 OBITUARY Mrs. Harry Claycomb Mrs. Ardella (Weyant) Claycomb 56, wife of Harry B. Claycomb, died Monday, Feb.

19, at her home in Weyant. born on Jan. 7, 1889, Fremont. daughter of Daniel B. and Rebecca (McDonald) Weyant.

Surviving are her husband, her mother and these children: Merle, Weyant; Alton, Fostoria. Dean, Imler; Rayford. Hatboro; Tech. Sgt. Curtis, at Ft.

Knox, Cpl. Vernon, Camp Howze, Texas, and Leahbelle and Sheldon, both at home. The deceased was a sister of Alvey Weyant, New Paris R. D. Clarence Weyant, Cresson: Mrs.

Joseph Way, Fishertown and Mrs. urtis Reighard, Bedford. Seven grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Claycomb was a member of the Weyant Methodist Church.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Weyant Methodist Church by Rev. W. F. Rose, of Williamsburg, a former pastor. Interment was in the Reformed Cemetery, Osterburg.

Mrs. Virginia McLanahan Mrs. Virginia Louise (Over) Lanahan, widow of Samuel Calvin McLanahan, for many years a resident of Hollidaysburg where in her early life, she was prominently identified with church and social activities, died Sunday morning at the Mercy hospital where she was admitted on Feb. 9.

Mrs. McLanahan had suffered a fracture of the hip in a fall. She was a daughter of David and Elmira (Farquhar (Over) and was born at Bedford on Aug. 11. 1854.

Early in life she came to Hollidaysburg and was united in marriage with Samuel Calvin McLanahan on March 30, 1882. She was one of the first graduates of the Hollidaysburg Female seminary, later known as Highland Hall. and was one of the original members of the Tourist club. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church. Surviving is one son, Ward McLanahan of Altoona, with whom she had made her home, and one sister, Miss Nellie G.

Over, who resides at the Presbyterian home. Private funeral services were conducted at the home of her son Wednesday afternoon. Private interment was made in the Presbyterian cemetery, Altoona. Mrs. William Neff Mrs.

Bertha F. Neff, 51, wife of -William Neff, died at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon at her home in Johnstown. She was born July 11, 1893 in Pavia, a daughter of John H. Dibert, residing at Pavia and of the late Catherine (Feather) Dibert. Surviving are her husband and her father and three childrenAnna, at home; Catherine, Philadelphia and Joseph, Custer, S.

D. There are four grandchildren. She was a sister of Charles Neff, Derry; Harry, Pavia; Mrs. Hester Feather, Pavia; Roy, York; Mrs. Clara Crist, Bedford; Mrs.

Minnie Corl. Weaverly, and Pfc. Lawrence, with the Army in Pittsburgh. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at the Reformed Church, Pavia, the Rev. D.

A. Miller officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of A. A. Wagner.

Mrs. Susan Brode Mrs. Susan Morningstar (Stone) Brode, 75, died on Monday, Feb. 19, at the home of her son, Paul E. Brode in Hyndman, after an illness of six weeks.

Mrs. Brode had made her home with her son for the past year. She was a daughter of the late George and Christina Morningstar Stone of Huntingdon County. She was a member of the Coalmont Methodist Church. Besides her husband and son, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs.

-Mary Baker of Saxton and Mrs. Effie Donaldson, Popular Bluffs, Mo. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Zeigler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jones pastor of the Hyndman Methodist- Church officiating.

Interment was in the Madley Cemetery. Walter J. House Walter J. House died suddenly Wednesday evening, Feb. 7, at the horne of Mr.

and Mrs. Joseph Wigfield, Everett, where he had resided for a number years. He was born June 13, 1877, and held membership in the Lutheran Church. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Feb. 10, at the D.

Mrs. Mary Griffith Mrs. Mary E. Griffith, widow of N. P.

Griffith, formerly of Imler, died Wednesday morning. Feb. 14, at the home of her son, W. E. Griffith, Somerset.

She was born at New Paris. March 31, 1855, a daughter of Peter and Lavina (Moses) Imler. She is survived by the son mentioned, another son, Harry N. Griffith, Greensburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Imler and Mrs.

Annie Otto, Osterburg. Her husband death 19 years ago. was a member of St. Paul's serial 3483 -P Snyder and Mrs. James Peck was followed by readings by Mrs.

Evangelical and Reformed Church, Imler. Funeral services were conducted last Friday afternoon. Feb. 16, at St. Paul's, her pastor, Rev.

Donald. Schlicher officiating. Interment was in the Imler cemetery, under the direction of the Carn Funeral Home. Claysburg. Mrs.

Eunice Snyder Mrs. Eunice Snyder 94, died on Friday, February 16. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Holt of Carnegie, Pa A native of Centerville, Mrs. Snyder lived in Cumberland while her first husband, William Loudermill.

was assistant postmaster there. Her only survivors are a number; of grandchildren. Daniel Replogle Daniel Replogle a retired farmer of Woodbury, Bedford county, died Tuesday morning at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Rebecca Garland. Hollidaysburg.

He was a son of Henry B. and Catherine (Albright) Replogle and was born at Waterside, Oct. 14, 1860. He was united in marriage with Nancy C. Longenecker on Aug.

24. 1884. at Woodbury, R. who preceded him in death on June 23, 1944. Surviving are four children.

D. No. 2, Mrs. Marie Walls of Portland, and Mrs. Mae Lindsey of Duncansville.

thirteen greatgrandchildren and one sister Miss Elizabeth Replogle. a guest at the Morrisons' for the Aged at Martinsburg. Three grandsons and one granddaughter and two grand-sons-in-law are in the armed forces. He was a member of the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren and had foliowed farming in Bedford and Blair counties most of his life until retiring recently. Funeral services will be held at the Church of God.

Woodbury this afternoon at 2:30. Interment will be in the Dry Hill cemetery. Elmer E. Sipes Elmer E. Sipes died on Sunday, February 18 at the Cresson Sanitient torium.

TRUCK STOLEN, A Ford truck owned by Ellis Martin of Defiance was stolen on Saturday night while parked on a street in Six Mile Run. State police of the local substation learned that the truck crashed into two parked cars and one moving vehicle after it was stolen. Women's Society Meets The Women's Society of the Tecumsah Methodist Church met on Wednesday evening, with the president, Mrs. Foster Pennell presiding.

Woolley, Regional OPA Administrator said, in releasing the weekly fuel oil consumption reports for the information of houscholders. Maximum percentage reports are issued weekly throughout the fuel oil shortage areas in order to help consumers kcep within their ration allotments. The figures are based on weather conditions prevailing in cach locality as reported weckly to OPA. MILEAGE RECORDS The Rationing Division of the District Office of Price Adminis-: tration repeats its warning of SCV-' eral weeks ago to the extent that mileage records are absolutely necessary when applications for suplemental gasoline rations are made. These records replace tire rationing certificates and mot-; torists who do not have them should apply immediately to their local War Price and Rationing Boards for duplicates.

Frequently, car owners desire 10 apply for supplemental rations and i are disappointed when they find such rations are not available due to lack of milcage records. Do yourself a favor, and at the same time help your local War Price and Rationing Board by ap-1 plying immediately for duplicate mileage records where originals have been lost or misplaced.
