OBITUARY Lura K. McKinley Airs. Lura K. McKinley, of South Juliana street, Bedford, died at the Everett hospital at 5 o'clock Friday morning, Sept. 26.

She was born in Somerset County, Aug. 16, 1874, a daughter of Rudolph and Mary Ellen (McVicker) Keller. She was married to Harry McKinley, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, William Rand Walter K. McKinley.

both of Bedford; a brother, Edward Keller, and a sister, Mrs. Gus Little, Bedford and 8 grandchildren. She was a member of the Bedford Methodist church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the residence in Bedford, the Rev. H.

T. Covert officiating. Interment was in the Bedford cemetery under the direction of the Barefoot funeral home. Bonita Susan Lankard, Bonita Susan Lankard, monthold daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

D. E. Lankard, Cumberland, died Sept. 25 at the Allegany hospital, Cumberland, of bronchial pneumonia. She is survived by her parents, a sister and a brother.

Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James S. Davidson of East Penn street, Bedford Interment was made in the Bedford cemetery Friday afternoon, the Rev. H.

T. Covert, pastor of the Bedford Methodist church, conducting a short service at the grave. Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were the little girl's paternal grandmother, Mrs. H. A.

Lankard, Mrs. Don Keiper and Helen Mierley all of Alexandria, and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Whitesides of Cumberland. Mrs.

Sally Brotemarkle Mrs. Sally K. Brotemarkle, widow of Robert Lee Brotemarkle of Newton Hamilton, died suddenly during church services in Mount Union Sunday morning. Her late husband, Robert Lee Brotemarkle, died suddenly in a hotel in Bedford Dec. 11, 1943.

She was born in Bedford Sept. 21, 1885, a daughter of Robert and Mary Catharine (Bryan) Bryant. She was married April 14, She is survived by 9 sons and daughters. 17 grandchildren and two brothers and a sister, Keifer Bryant of Hyndman and Austin and Mrs. Louise Brown of Cumberland.

Virs. Jennie Brown Mrs. Jennie Catherine Brown. 76. died at her home in Buffalo Mills Thursday.

Sept. 25. She was born Sept. 10, 1871. She is survived by these children: Mrs.

Bertha J.4 Brown and Mrs. May Buffalo Mills: George H. Brown, Manns Choice; Roy Clinton Brown. Altoona, and Mrs. Mary Nesbit.

Johnstown. Also surviving are two brothers. Harry Cook, Buffalo Mills, and William Cook, Manns Choice, R. 1. Funeral services were conducted Sunday with burial at Buffalo Mills cemetery under the direction of the Zeigler funeral home of Hyndman.

Sylvester Smith Sylvester E. Smith. 78, died at his home at Spring Hope on Wednesday evening, Spet. 24. He was born in Alum Bank, a son of Joseph B.

and Mary Ann (Hoover) Smith. He was married to May Valentine, June 26, 1890. He is survived by his wife and Schellsburg. R. Nealson Smith, six, children--Mrs.

Grant Snyder, New Paris, R. Ivory Smith, Mrs. Horner anda Draper Smith, Bedford R. Bruce Smith. Mansfield.

Ohio. Also surviving are three brothers, Samuel and Howard New Paris and Clarence, Johnstown. Three daughters and a son preceded him in death. Membership was held in the Point E. U.

B. church. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Smith home and at the Fishertown Reformed cemetery, the Rev. C. R.

Doverspike officiating. I erment was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Blackburn funeral home of Pleasantville. Mrs: Marie Jessup Airs. Marie Jessup died at the home of her daughter. Mrs.

Charles Bax of Sahellsburg. Monday, Sept. 29. She was born at Meadville Nov. 28.

1872. a daughter of Francis and Catherine Alzigre. She was married to Joseph Jessup. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Bax.

with whom she lived: three brothers. William and Charles Alzigre of Meadville: Napoleon Alzigre of Baltimore. and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Johnson of Florida and Mrs. Lizzie Brown of Guysville.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Mickle funeral home, the Rev. Frank Herzel officiating. Interment was in the Schellsburg cemetery. Chalmer Ralph Shaefer Chalmer Ralph Shaefer of Imler, died at his home at noon Saturday after an illness of several years. He was the son Edwin E.

and May (Yingling) Shaefer and was born at Imler, R. July 21. 1902. He married Ruth Ickes of Osterburg. R.

Nov. 8, 1924. Surviving are his wife, one son. Zane of North Bergen, N. one grandson, a sister Mrs.

Dorothy Weyant, widow of James A. Weyant of Queen, died Saturday afternoon at her home after an illness of two years. She was a lifelong resident of Queen and was born June 22, 1882, the daughter of Zachariah and Mary (Baird) Weyant. Surviving are the following children: Hazel and Mrs. Esther W.

Kay, both at home; Ray of Claysburg, Lester of Turtle Creek, and Mrs. Mary Strayer of New Paris, 10 children, and one brother, Samuel of Sproul Mrs. Emma Himes Dillng Mrs. Emma Himes Dilling, aged 72, of Windber, died at 5:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon. She was born Oct.

1, 1875, in Liberty township, Bedford county. Surviving are her husband, John H. Dilling; one daughter, Ferne at home; a sister, Agnes Smeltzer of Saxton, and one brother, Samuel Himes of Detroit, Mich. Myrtle L. Taylor Miss Myrtle L.

Taylor, aged 64, died at her home at Spring Hope Monday, Sept. 28, after an extended illness. She was born near Spring Hope; Apr. 3, 1883, a daughter of Samuel and Charlotte (Wertz) Taylor. Her father a and mother are deceased.

She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Stone church, Fishertown, the Rev. Jesse Oldham officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Blackburn funeral home. Bertha Hazel Weist Mrs.

Bertha H. Weist, wife; of. William T. Weist. died at the Everett hospital Monday morning following a serious operation which she had undergone some time previously.

She was born at Broad Top City June 14, 1895, a daughter of Wiiliam H. and Sarah (Jones) On July 26. 1917, she was united in marriage with William T. Weist, who survives with these children: John Mrs. Thomas Reyan, Mrs.

Roy Layton, Everett R. William Paul and Dorothy at home. Her father. eight grandchildren, two brothers. John R.

Giffin, Breezewood, Dorsey Giffin. New Kensington: two sisters, Mrs. Daniel Weist and Sarah fin. Everett R. 2, also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the Graceville Lutheran Church. with Rev. Harry A. Fink officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the supervision of the Balentine Funeral -Service.

James Edward Foreman James E. Foreman, a native of Yellow Creek, died at the Everett hospital early Monday morning, Sept. 29. He was admitted to that institution following an accident in which he suffered a fracturedskull, when he was struck by a bicycle near his home on September 13. Mr.

Foreman was born at Yellow Creek August 18, 1870, a son of George F. and Eliza (Fluke) Foreman. He was married to Mary E. Neely in 1908. She preceded him in death April 10, 1910.

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. R. Irvin Piper, of Yellow Creek, with whom he made his home, and these brothers and sisters: Harry Westernport. Maryland; Martin Altoona; Thomas T. Saxton: Jacob Bedford; Robert St.

Petersburg, Florida; Mrs. Mary Streightiff, Mrs. W. C. Brumbaugh and Mrs.

Sarah Brinkman, all of Altoona. Three sisters preceded him in death. Three grandchildren also survive. Membership was held in the Christian Missionary Alliance church. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Brethren Church, Yellow Creek, with Revs.

Joseph Clapper and Horace Clapper officiating. Interment was made in the Steele cemetery under the supervision of the Balentine Funeral Service. Virgil Victor VonStein Virgil V. VonStein, a well known farmer of Clearville R. 1 died athis home last Saturday.

Sept 20, following a lingering illness of several months. Mr. VonStein was born at Clearville February 1. 1878, a son of John AL and Mary (Fletcher) VonStein, deceased. On January 27.

1904. he was united in marriage with Elsie Weimer. She survives with the following children: Delmar and Ivan VonStein Reba, wife of Charles Barkman. Everett: Harold VonStein and Lena, wife of Marle Bishop, Clearville; Marjorie VonStein. Pautuxent River.

Maryland: Virgil John and Jesse VonStein. at home. Six grandchildren a brother and a sister survive, Randall Von-' Stein, Everett R. 3 and Airs. R.

Hayes Wilson, of Everett. Membership was held in the Reformed Church at Everett. Funeral services were held at the Clearville Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. with Rev. S.

A. Moyer officiating. Interment was made in the Everett cemetery under the supervision of the Replogle Funeral Service.
