Tlie Blytheville Giants go after their second victors' over Jackson, Teim., tomorrow afternoon, when they meet the. The GlaVts defeated the Generals, 5-3, Thursday night for their first triumph of tlie. exhibition series. Manager Jlerschell Bobo lias announced another change in the pitching selections. Lewis "Long John" Meyran, New York City, and Eli "Drippy" Pclcrlich, Chlcaao, the tallest pitchers in camp, have been nominated to face the Ccn- erals, as originally planned. Bobo decided yesterday to let the Inll recruits chunk against tlie House of David this afternoon, saving the local boys, Clyde "Spot" need and William V. "Lefly" Alexander, for the Sabbath struggle. But last nielit lie said that he was reverted his plans and would hold Meyran and Peterlich for the Generals and use Reed nnd Alexander against the bearded boys. The game will make the debut, of Robert Woods, infielder secured nt 'the recommendation of Jiiutny Powell, manager of Greenville, ifiss., of the Cotton States League. Woods will go lo third base, replacing Jimmy Llberto. who lias been released. No other changes are anticipated in ihe Giant lineup that includes Ed Jiaguskus, first base; Julian Harrington, second base; 4 'Hank" Dvorak, shortstop, with Woods in the infield; Charles "Chuck" Oxley. Joe Curran. nnd Steve Tramback, in the outfield. Joe Maresco will work behind the bat. Another southpaw pitcher has been added to the local camp. He is "Lefty" Whatley, Mlnter City, Miss. Bobo signed the cockeye last fall upon the recommendation of the MJntcr .City higli school conch. Bob Williams. He Is 5 feel, 10 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. Manager "Dutch" Welch has intimated that one of his aee liurlcrs. Harry Webb, might work n (ew innings against the Giants, but had two more rookies to look over before ' the season opened. Their jianies ivere not revealed. His lineup will likely consist ol Dick Jones', Kliortatop; either Ted Coiner or "Rich" Richmond, second base; Lou Perritnnn, ccnterfleld; Doc Bishop, first base; Bill Justice or Bo Johnson, .former Jonesboro Hurricane football star, third base; Lewis Gentry, left field; Guy Starks. right field; New Miller catcher.
