Off such a tremendous win. the fourth-ranked Corn- huskers would figure to be an overwhelming favorite over 14 winners over Purdue, a week ago are only 15-point under dogs. Why? Second-year Nebraska Coach Tom Osborne expressed his cautious views on the game, which no doubt influenced tne low spread.

"This is just one Osborne said. "Now we have to play a team that we barely escaped losing to in our own stadium last year." In "the 1973 meeting between the two, Nebraska eked out a 20-16 win, taking a 3-1 lead in their series. Wisconsin won the first encounter in 1901; since then the Cornhuskers have prevailed in their irregular meetirfgs. Osborne also pointed out me similarity between last year and this year for Nebraska going into the contest with the Radeers. me MUSKers ocai tin A 40-13 in their 1973 opener, then played mediocre ball in the next tew games.
