FRANKLIN 736-9500 Ralph Goodman Manner Kirk Douglas stars as Jekyll and Hyde VP cleaner and rental machines available 7- Kirk Douglas An impromptu conversation between Kirk Douglas and director David Winters led to Douglas starring in "Timex Presents Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," the original musical version of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic which was telecast earlier this year, Douglas shared the spotlight with a roster of leading British performers, including Susan Hampshire, Susan George, Sir Michael Redgrave, Donald Pleasence and Stanley Holloway, in the Winters-Rosen production. Said Winters: "The idea originated while my partner, Burt Rosen, and I were working with Kirk on "The Special London Bridge Special," which was on NBC.

I was chatting with Kirl one day and he urged me to do a dramatic production. 'How about a Jekyll and Hyde I said. He loved the idea. That's all I needed. I immediately went to work on developing the idea.

When I had everything together Iwent to Yugoslavia, where Kirk was starring in his film, and pitched our Jekyll-Hyde concept to him. A few weeks later; we were in business." Winters and Rosen agree that this was a charmed production. "Normally," said Winters, "you go after a list of actors you think would be ideal the 'A' cast. Of course, in most cases you wind up with a 'B' or a 'C cast. We got our 'A' cast for this show.
