No, don't come expecting to see Jon McGlocklin, Willis Reed, Lew Alcindor, or any current high school stars.

This upcoming session will be Ed Thompson's third annual basketball camp. I Geared for boys in the sixth through ninth grades, the camp will attempt, "to instill the many fundamentals, in- dividual skills and confidence all youngsters should acquire in order to further their basketball aspirations," said Thompson. The week-long camp will be strictly a daytime affair from 8 a. m. to 12 noon and costs $20.

Assisting Thompson in his instructing chores will be four members of the Franklin Grizzlies' basketball squad (to be named later) who finished 15-8 and secured a berth in the NAIA District 21 Playoffs this year. The assistant director will be Clark Dickerson, Franklin's assistant basketball coach, head baseball coach and head recruiter. Also dropping in to offer assistance and guidance will be coaches from Indiana and Kentucky high schools. The camp is specially geared for active youngsters who, according to Thompson, "can now play little league baseball since the school will be held in the morning. This isn't strictly a lecture camp," he continued, "but will be a competition-oriented affair with trophies awarded at the end of the week." June 28-July 2 and July 26-30 will be the dates of the two sessions and the fee includes insurance, a school tee shirt and the trophies.

The awards will be presented in free throw accuracy, field goal percentage and sportsmanship (selected by the boys). The sessions will be split into two groups for maximum benefit with sixth and seventh graders comprising one league and the eighth and ninth another. Any parents interested in entering their son in Thompson's camp may contact him at Franklin College, Franklin, Ind. 46131. The telephone number in Thompson's office is 736-8441, extension 113, and his hours are daily from 8 a.m.
