This new unit would be part of the church's total Sunday School program, and would be especially for adults who are single, widowed or divorced. "More and more of our Bible study units are moving in the direction of couples: classes and husbandwife fellowship activities," explained Dawson, "thus making the single adult feel out of place." The new single adult unit will be staffed by those who are familiar with the problems of single and divorced adults.

The director is a divorcee who has since remarried, and the men's teacher is one who has been single for most of his adult life.
