WILMINCTON MORN INC NEWS. WILMINGTON. DELAWARE. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28. 1936 in El PRESIDENT OF P.

R. R. COMMENDS EMPLOYES In acknowledgement of the local efforts of the employes of the Pennsylvania Railroad, which has kept Che railroad in continuous operation throughout the period of un PRINTING COMPANY LOCATES PLANT HERE The industrial department of the Chamber of Commerce announced yesterday the Stover Printing Company, large contract printers from Ithaca, New York, had located a plant in Wilmington. The company has secured on a long-time lease precedented snow, ice and cold which sWJ Leibowitz's spectacular bargains are the talk of the town everybody wonders how we can sell so many wanted things below actual wholesale cost! Entirely new equip ment, including five automatic presses and type casting machines will be installed. The plant will be served by the railroad siding from the B. and O. Railroad.

A. B. Stover, president, states that the building will be repaired and remodeled. It is expected operations will start about April 15. An official of the Chamber of Commerce said: "We are pleased to welcome the Stover Printing Company to our community.

They are contract printers for some of the largest concerns in this country. Their local operations will employ 15 persons." gy A I marked this Winter, President M. W. Clement has addressed a letter of thanks to every employe. These letters will accompany the pay Checks for the last half of February, which will be delivered to all of the 100,000 workers on the railroad tomorrow, Mr.

Clement's letter says in part: "There is no previous record in Pennsylvania territory of so long a period of snow and sleet storms and successive waves of zero and subzero weather such as we have experienced since the last half of December. "Some idea of the severity of the weather conditions which the Pennsylvania Railroad organization has had to encounter may oe indicated by the fact that in the month of January alone it cost the Pennsylvania Railroad more than $1,000,000 extra to fight repeated snow and sleet storms and to overcome the effects of sub-zero weather. That this money was well spent is indicated by the results. Although this Winter has without precedent, our trains have been kept running and passengers and freight have been moved continuously everywhere on our lines. "Railroad transportation was the only transportation which continued to perform regardless of the weather.

Brand, 25, of 1002 Adams street, was found in his room yesterday morning with a rifle bullet through the head, by his sister, Mrs.

Mary B. Dauphin, of 313 Woodlawn avenue. Dr. M. I.

Samuel pronounced him dead. Detectives Cash and McGranary said the young man had apparently sat on a chair, placed the rino between his feet and by using a rag with which to pull the trigger had fired the shot. Mrs. Dauphin told the detectives that she went to the house about 10 a. m.

and hearing moans at 10:30 went to the man's room where she found the body. Miss Sarah M. Brand, another sister, said that since the death of their father, Thomas L. Brand, a former employe of the Delaware Light and Power Company, the young man had been despondent. This and his inability to obtain employment is believed to have prompted him to commit suicide.
