CROSS Nashville, TN Ellis Terry Dale, 95, of Nashville, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 16th, at Southerland Place in Brentwood, TN. Ellis was born in Celina, TN on January 23, 1921, a son of the late Emma (Terry) and Jack Dale. Ellis was married to Virginia (Hollingswoth) Dale, they had been married for 59 years when Virginia passed away in 2005. Ellis served the U.S.

Air Force during WWII. He was of Church of Christ faith. Ellis was a successful businessman during his life; a partial owner and stockholder at Sureway grocery store in Henderson, KY; a co-owner of Hollinsworth and Dale Buick and Pontiac Car Dealership in Tompkinsville, KY, and the retired owner of Smalling Safety Equipment out of Nashville, TN. Ellis was known for his generosity, big heart, and compassion that he had toward everyone. Ellis was a caring man that loved his family, friends and life in general.

Ellis will be remembered for being a true southern gentleman. Ellis is survived by a son, Joseph Terry "Joe" Dale, of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Mary Ann Dale, of Scottsdale, Arizona and his grandson, Alex Zabaski of Scottsdale, Arizona. Other than Ellis' parents and loving wife, he is preceded in death by all of his siblings, Ray Dale, Jack Dale, Joseph Austin Dale, Elizabeth Baugh and Dorothy Rich. Services will be held Friday the Nineteenth at Woodland Memorial Park, 600 Thompson Lane, Nashville with visitation starting at 12:30, a chapel service at 2:30 followed by mausoleum internment. A Celebration of Life will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local Dog Rescue or Hip Donelson Lost and Found Pets. Age 40, departed this life February 12, 2016. She was born Anne Fairfield Kittredge to Elinor Taylor and Walter Wilson Kittredge in Hartford, CT, on July 13, 1929. Anne graduated from Hamden High School in Hamden, CT, and from Marietta College, OH. She earned a Masters in Library Science from Peabody College, Nashville, TN, and a Masters in Public Administration from The University of Tennessee.

She was a librarian with both the Tennessee Library Development Program and the Nashville Public Library. She was married to Clarence Dean Daugherty from 1950 to 1970. Surviving are children: Scott Howard Daugherty, Mark Kittredge Daugherty and Megan Deanne Daugherty Sullivan; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anne had an unsurpassed exuberance for life, evolving as the world did around her. Her father instilled in her pragmatism and independence; her mother taught her to be an artist, accomplished musician and lifelong learner.

Her family and friends will miss her moxie, her clever wit and her endless quest for learning. A memorial service for Anne will be held at Vine Street Christian Church, 4101 Harding Rd, Saturday, February 20 at 2 pm, preceded by visitation at 1pm. The cause of death was complications from Essential Tremor disorder. Freddie owned and operated Dismukes Automotive Supply on Columbia Avenue until his retirement in 1990. Freddie was a lifelong Vol fan.

He was an enthusiastic recreational tennis player for the Carnton Country Club tennis team may lose the match but never the and an avid rose gardener who at one time tended one hundred rose bushes. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and participated for many decades in the Horace Edgmon Sunday School class. He will be missed by many. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Selene and Adeline and by brothers, G.S., Walter, and Zachary. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Lee Covington Dismukes; by his daughter and son-in-law Diane Dismukes Shelby and Kerry Glenn Shelby of Key West, Florida; by his son Frederick Lighthall (Rick) Dismukes, Jr.

of Franklin; by his granddaughters, Covington Grace Dismukes and Madison Rion Dismukes, also of Franklin; and by his siblings, James Avent Dismukes of Murfreesboro, Laura D. Hooper of Waverly and Lucy D. Rice of Murfreesboro. Freddie donated his remains to the Vanderbilt School of Medicine for the purposes of medical education and research. The family wishes to thank special caregivers Ashley Ruiz, Alive Hospice and Lisa Graham.
