Rosemarie (Valenti) Maglione ILLINOIS Rosemarie (Valenti) Maglione, of Champaign, died Ida Elizabeth Slaughter mopolis, he grew up In Akron, Ohio, graduating from Central High School. He was a member of Wesley Temple A.M.E. Zion Church.

He retired from the U.S. Army after 25 years of service. Former U.S. Secretary of State i August 8, 1991 at St. Joseph's Hospice In Tucson, Arizona after a long illness of cancer.

"Ro" was bom in Akron, Ohio, on September 26, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Angelina Valenti. She attended North High Delores "Dee" Rader TALLMADGE Delores "Dee" Rader, 61, died Sept. 18, 1991. Mrs. Rader was a homemaker bom In Muskingham, but lived most of her life in the Tallmadge area.

She was a graduate of Tallmadge High School, and a member of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge. Preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Neal, she is survived by daughters, Lori Deal and Linda Moffat; sons, Mark and Mitchell Rader, all of California; father, Ray E. Neal of Tallmadge; brother, Charles Neal of Akron; and five grandchildren. Col. Matthew Hamilton Simon, who grew up in Akron and spent 25 years in the Army, died Wednesday in EI Paso, Texas. He was 64. Col. Simon's military decorations included the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device; Bronze Star; and Army Commendation Medal.

Born in Demopolis, Col. Simon grew up in Akron, graduated from Central High School (now Central-Hower) and was a member of Wesley Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. Col. Simon had lived in Texas since 1968 and was active in a number of organizations, including the Boy Scouts, American Heart Association, March of Dimes, United Negro Colleges and Sun City Lions Club.

He was a life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Doris, of El Paso; son Matthew of Seattle; daughters Denise Washington and Gayle Simon, both of El Paso, and Doris Johnson of Dallas; and sisters Ophelia Averitt and Cora Cole of Akron. A military service will be held in El Paso on Monday. In Akron, calling hours will be noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wesley Temple A.M.E.

Zion Church. Burial will be at Mount Peace cemetery. Bom in states-ville, N.C., he was a member of this community for five years. He was a long distance truck driver working until time of illness. He was a member of Anti-och Baptist Church.

He is survived XL Dean Rusk spoke highly of Matt as a caring person. Among his awards and commendations, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device. Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, 20-Year Service Bar, Armed Force Reserve Medal with 10-year device and Meritorius Service Medal. He was past-president of the El Paso Association of Life Underwriters, where he was Life Underwriter of the Year in 1985. He was a life member of the Million Dollar Roundta-ble; was one of the top 100 agents of New York Life out of more than 10,000 agents; he was a member of Chairmans Council of New York Life, which is the top honor an agent can receive; national speaker of the Industry and New York Life at the Educational Conference; assisted New York Life in the development of the agency computer network; and was Agent of the Year in the El Paso general office for many years.

He was active in his community through the Blood Service, Boy Scouts, American Heart Association, Muscular Distrophy, March of Dimes, Arthritis Foundation, Battered Wives, Children With Learning Disabilities, Civicans, United Negro Colleges, Alabama Clubs International, Sun City Lions Club, Golden Heritage, and was a life member of the NAACP. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 39 years, Doris T. Simon of El Paso; son, Matthew D. (Melanie) Simon of Seattle, daughters, Denise N. (Charles) Washington, Gayle M.

Simon, both of El Paso, and Doris Beth E. Johnson of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Machele Elizabeth Johnson, Micah Marie Simon, Matthew Aaron Simon and Carl Marie Washington; sisters, Ophelia A. (Andy) Averitt and Cora (Herchiel) Cole, both of Akron; beloved In-laws, Donald (Louise Tyler, Gabrieleen (Johnny) Bell, Crayton (Lois) Tyler; uncles, Walter (Mary) Hamilton, and Frank Hamilton of Buffalo, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Black Shatter Corbett Shatter Corbett. 94 years, passed away Sept. 21. He lived in Akron for 66 years, and was owner-operator of Corbett Sohto from 1948 to 1965. and of the Texaco at Wilbeth Arlington from 1967 to 1970.

He worked 33 years as a truck tirebuilder at Goodyear, Kelly Spnngfield and Seiberling. retinng from Goodrich in 1948. He also worked as a railroad fireman, and a molder for Pangbom Corp. In Hagar-stown, Md. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Shirley of Akron; grandsons, Gerald Miga of Barberton, Ronald Workman and Paul both of Akron; granddaughter, Susan of Kentucky; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Green was bom in Parkers-burg, W. and lived in Cuyahoga Falls the past 25 years moving there from Akron. She retired from the Firestone Tire Rubber worked In the bead room and was a tire builder, and later worked as a waitress at Tippy's Restaurant and also for Betsy Ross Foods. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Robert E.

Garrison of Par-kersburg, W. William G. and Babe Garrison of Montana, Steve and Mar-lene Wells of Cuyahoga Falls, James E. and Midge Wells of Barberton; daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Robert Bell of Gary, 28 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Orville Holman of Parkersburg, W. sisters, Jane Lesko of Columbus, Elva Jackson of Atwater, Ohio, Violet Mc-Kinney of North Carolina, and Clida Kerns of Georgia.

Hanawalt Ross D. Hanawalt, 63, died Sept. 13 in Ft. Myers, where he had lived the past seven years. He was formerly of Doylestown, was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Doylestown American Legion Post 407, and the Moose Lodge 579 of Barberton.

Preceded in death by his wife, June McKee, he is survived by daughters, Traci Hanawalt and Anita Gibson, both of Columbus, and Judy Garey of Norton; son, Mark Hanawalt of Doylestown; stepsons, Patrick and Greg McKee of Ft. Myers, and Kevin McKee of Ohio; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, James Hanawalt of two sisters, Marie Bower of Florida, and Carol Morrell of Wadsworth. Bom in Columbus, he had lived in the Akron area most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of the Green Baptist Church, and retired from Al-sides Aluminum. Preceded in death by wife, Ethel (Silknitter), he is survived by stepsons, Eugene Wuerzer of Akron and Donald Wuerzer of Tempe, six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews in Columbus. 20, 1991 at School, and the University of Akron, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She married Frank Daniel Maglione Jr. on April 21, 1947. After working for several years as a dietician, she left this career to devote the remainder of her life to her home and family. She was a life member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, in addition to her skilled gourmet cooking, she was an accomplished duplicate bridge player having been certified by the A.C.B.L.

as a teacher and novice director. She both played bridge competitively and taught many students to learn and enjoy the game. She Is survived by her husband, Dr. Frank Daniel Maglione; sons, Christopher and Daniel of Tucson; daughter, Susan Little of Lexington, Kentucky, and sister, Inez McBride of Tucson. She leaves nephew, Ray Valenti and niece, Jan Valenti of Akron and Kent; nephews, Tom and Tim De-Frange of Akron and Kent; also four grandchildren, Travis, Katie and Tyler Little, and Joseph Maglione.

A memorial mass will be held St. Martha Church on Wednesday evening. Sept. 25, at 5:30, with Rev. Norman Douglas presiding.

Manges, 74, died unexpectedly Sept. 19, 1991. She was born in Akron and had lived for the last 20 years in Cuyahoga Falls. She was a member of the O.E.S. Mrs.

Rothemund WADSWORTH Rudolf E. Rothemund, 62, died Sept. 21, 1991 at Akron City Hospital after a two month Illness. Mr. Rothemund was bom in New York City and resided in Wadsworth since 1958.

He was a graduate of New York University and Columbia University, and was a captain In the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was manager of international sales for Babcock Wilcox retiring in 1987 with 35 years service. Mr. Rothemund was a member of Guiding Star Masonic Lodge in New York, Rawiga Country Club, Wadsworth Zoning Commission Board of Appeals, the Wadsworth Lions Club and Chairman of the Medina County Board of Health.

He Is survived by wife, Violet sons and daughters-in-law, Rudolf J. and Debbie of Wooster, Richard and Jean of Wadsworth; daughters, Lynn and Lisa of Florida; grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Jason and Rebecca; mother-in-law, Gertrude Gun-kel Mitchell. She was a school teacher in Cuyahoga Falls for 25 years where she resided until she moved to Wooster three years ago. She attended First Church of God in Wooster. She is survived by son, Warren Phillips of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Sally) Cross-mon of Wooster, and Mrs. John (Susan) Roberts of England; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
