Dern was born in Akron, and lived in Stow the post two years moving there from Del Ray Beach, Fla. where he had resided for 1 1 years. He was a graduate of Ellet High School, a former member of Grace Reformed Church, served as a captain in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. He retired in 1974 as division plant superintendent for the Ohio Bell Tele- phone with 43W years service.

He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, the Akron Telephone Fore-mans Club, the U.S. Power Squadron, and the Cleveland Navigators Club. He is survived by niece, Karla J. Dern of Federal Way, Wash. There will be no focal calling hours.

After 25 years of being a winter vacationer and resident, Dr. and Mrs. Dreisbach moved permanently to Naples, Fla. in 1980. He was Professor Emeritus in Physical Chemistry from Hiram College, Hiram.

Dr. Dreisbach was a graduate of Hiram College, and received his Ph.D. in physical science from Case Western Reserve University. He was a professor at Hiram College from 1952 through 1974, and within nis 40-year teaching career, he taught 'at several colleges and universities throughout the United States. For years during his professorship, "and continuing after his retirement, Dr.

jDreisbach worked at Hiram College "doing extensive cancer research. He Vwas a developer for Dreisbach Electro- Electric Automotive Re-', Search and had several patents concerning engines and transmissions. r. Dreisbach owned and operated i Industrial Covers which designed, Manufactured, and distributed items nade of plastic film. During World Var II, he worked in conjunction with ihe University of Akron in the development of synthetic rubber.

He was the Author of "Liquids and in 1966, and was the co-. Author with Betty Lou Hruby of the and Cons of Mobile Home living" published in 1982. Dr. received the Distinguished Serv-' jce Award from Hiram College and vas a Fellow of the American Associa-. Jion for the Advancement of Science, -and was a member of the American Chemical Society.
