Nichter, 98, of Akron, died April 10, 1994 at the Village of St. Edward. Mr. Nichter was born in Austria-Hungary and was a resident of Akron since 1913. He worked at the General Tire Rubber Co.

for 43 years, retiring in 1960. He was a member of the German-American Club and St. Bernard Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Anna, and grandson, Robert, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Richard Schanz of Del Ray Beach, son, Frank Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls; and grandsons, Richard and Paul Nichter.

In addition to conducting prayer meetings, she faithfully directed annual tent revivals in her very own neighborhood. While rearing eight children, Ira Dean served 14 years as a crossing guard for students attending Portage Path and St. Sebastian schools. She later served as a driver with the Metro Regional Transit Authority for a period of five years, until her passing. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward Smith, Ira Dean is survived by her eight loving children: Joanne (James) Ingram, Joyce Maria Campbell, Judith (Richard) Green, Jill M.

Smith, Ingrid "Niecy" Smith, Christopher (Marta) Campbell, Chico A. Rhasiatry and Robert (Valerie) Rhasiatry; aunt, Sara (Eddie) Mixon; sisters, Mamie (Oliver) Fayton, Alberta (Robert) Clement and Hattie Jean Rackley; brothers, Pastor Willie B. He was born in Kansas, earned his master's degree from Kansas State University, and was at Ohio State working on a doctorate when World War II started. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and commissioned as radar officer serv ing in the Pacific ron; brothers, John (Magie) Butler of Flint, Anthony (Liz) Butler and Henry L.

Schembechler, 80, of Massillon, formerly of Canal Fulton, died Tuesday, April 12, at Timken Mercy in Canton. He was born in Clinton and had been a life resident of the Canal Fulton area.

He retired in 1976 from the Ohio Edison Co. after over 30 years of service. He was a life member of Ss. Philip James Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Name Society, Canal Fulton Lions Club, and the Ohio Edison Men's Club. Preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Mary Schembechler, sisters, Gertrude Hardgrove and Helen Glos-sen, grandson, Robert Nesitz and great-granddaughters, Andrea Sweitz-ger and Amber Ries, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pauline daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Francis Rothermel of Massillon; son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Anna Schembechler of Canal Fulton; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Hammer of Canal Fulton; and special thanks to Margaret Lawless.

He retired in December, 1976, after over 25 years service, from The Norton Company in Mineral City, formerly Federal Refractories and U.S. Stoneware, where he was plant manager.

He was a member of East Sparta United Methodist Church and a former 62-year member of Sandyville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary M. May, with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Feb. 23; sons and daughters-in-law, George and Diane May, and Donald and Dixie May, all of Magnolia; grandchildren, Mrs.

Jeff (Terri) Pearson of Schaumburg, David and Christine May of Magnolia, Mrs. Kevin (Jenifer) Bidlingmaier of E. Sparta, and Mrs. Mark (Julie) Bland of Magnolia; and five great-grandchildren. Service will be conducted Friday, 11 a.m.

at East Sparta United Methodist Church, with Rev. 0. Bruce Hitchcock and Rev. Elden A. Smith officiating.

He became the national chairman of the Research and Engineering Committee of the National Security Industrial Association.

He retired as vice president of Engineering Research in 1985 from Goodyear Aerospace with 37 years service. A resident of Akron and Cuyahoga Falls since 1949, he was a member of the North Hill United Methodist Church, was a life member of the I.E.E.E., North Hill Community Care Center Board, the Eskimo Dinner Club, was adjunct professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and a member of the Engineering Advisory Council at the University of Akron. He is survived by wife, Anna sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Linda of Decatur, Gary and Ruth of Tallmadge, Eric and Barbara of Kent; grandchildren, Lee, Luke, Lisa and Ron Mettler, Lance and ThiAnna, Andy, Amanda and Philip. and Fannie (Henderson) Lemon. Mr. Lemon had retired as the co-owner of Carry-Out of Atwater. He was previously employed with American Steel Foundries of Alliance. Survivors include his sons, Ivan Lee Lemon of Texas and Willliam D.

Lemon of Indiana; daughters, Ruth Ann Weese of West Virginia and Karen S. Haskell Wilder BRIMFIELDTALLMADGE Haskell Wilder, 72, passed away April 10, 1994. He was born in Hillsboro, and lived most of his life in the greater Akron area. He retired as division manager in 1986 from Oakite Products, Inc.

with 30 years service, served in the U.S. Air Corps during World War II, was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. He served as past president of the Holy Name Society. He was treasurer of the Just Cricket Condominium Association, where he resided, was an avid woodworker and golfer, a member of the Tallmadge Council of and had served as past treasurer. He was a member of the Fourth Degree of C.

He was a graduate of South High School in 1939 and the University of Akron in 1953, and formerly worked at the B.F. Goodrich Co.
