Page 4-Deming Headlight, Dividends Set By Santa Fe The Board of Directors of the Santa Fe Railway last week declared a dividend (no. 118) twenty-five cents (.25) per share On its preferred capital stock payable Feb. 1, 1958 to stockholders of records at the close of business Dec. 27, 1957. In addition, the Board declared an extra dividend (184) for the year 1957 of twenty cents (.20) per share on the common capital! stock of the company payable Jan.

10, 1958 to stockholders of record at the close of business Dec. 6, 1957. The directors also declared a quarterly dividend of thirty cents (.30) per share (being dividend No. 185) on the common capital stock of the company payable March 1, 1958 to stockholders of record at the close of business on Jan. 24, 1958.

With this action, the total dividend appropriations of the Santa Fe Railway in 1957 amount to $40,187,480. Dies At 54 In Hospital While Visiting Here Frank. J. Clark, who was visiting Mrs. F.

H. Gahagan of Deming with his wife while the couple were on their way through to California, died at Mimbres Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning at 4 a.m. He had been ill for several weeks and was making the trip for his health. Mr. Clark, who was 54, is from Griggsville, Ill.

Poe's sister. Dec. 5, 1957 Kennecott Alters Payroll Periods Hurley, N. M. Every other Tuesday will be payday for most of the employees of the Chino Mines Division of Kennecott Copper Corporation beginning Dec.

24, W. H. Goodrich, Chino General manager, announced this week. The division is changing its payroll periods from semi-monthly to bi-weekly basis in order to achieve greater uniformity of accounting and reporting labor costs and to simplify payroll processing. In the past, Chino employees have been paid on the 10th and 25th of each month.

Employees will be paid on Dec. 10 for the last of the semi-monthly periods in November with the change in payday taking place on Dec. 24. The change will affect day pay employees only. Salaried employees will continue to be paid on a semi-monthly basis.
