Deaths Funerals Gerald A. Sprague, 48-year-old Kansas City, Kan resident, died Wednesday at Providence-St Margaret Health Center there He was the nephew of Ollie Biggerstaff, Wheeling, and Pearl Shell and Irene Austin, both of Chillicothe.

A graduate of the Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, and lifelong resident of the Kansas City area, he taught at Wyandotte High School For 12 years he had taught mathematics, data processing and computer science and was the girls' track and field coach. Mr Sprague was also the head swim coach at Shawnee Mission East High School and was the 1984 Kansas State High School Swim Coach of the Year. He was the former coach at the Wyandotte Swim Club the Kansas City Athletic Club, and was the founder and coach of the MidAmerica Swim Team. Surviving are wife, Carol, of the home; two: sons, Mike Pasadena, Texas, and Brian Kansas City, three daughters, Debbie White, Olathe, Cheri Sprague, Memphis, Tenn, and Staci Sprague, of the home; three sisters, Shirley Koroly, Norma Sprague and Pauline Sprague, all of Kansas City, and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.

Saturday at the Fulton-Nickel Chapel, Kansas City, with burial in Highland Park cemetery. Friends may call until 8 pm today. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, the Kidney Foundation or the Gerald A. Sprague scholarship fund, in care of the R. J.

Bridenthal, Security National Bank, Seventh Street and Minnesota Mrs. Dorothy Lucille Davis, 70, 119. W. North, Brookfield, died Thursday at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. She was the mother of Margaret Cowan and Ruby Stone, both of Chillicothe.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday: at the Grace Baptist Church in Brookfield, with the Rev. Donald Hoffman and the Rev. Dallas Williams officiating Burial will be in Park Lawn Memory Gardens, Brookfield. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m.

Saturday at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield. Memorials may be made to Pershing Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Davis was born May 24, 1915 to Ola F. and Susan A Moore Creason.

Dec. 17, 1938 she married Gail R. Davis in Macon. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, was an associate member of the Free Methodist Church, Chillicothe, member of the Army Mothers, Daughters of the American Revolution, Golden Rural Extension Club, OATS and Senior Citizen group. She taught rural schools in Sullivan and Linn counties, and later was employed at Brown Shoes in Brookfield from 1959 to 1971, when she retired.

Surviving are four sons, William Independence; James Winfield, David A Brookfield, and Leo Carol Stream, two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Margaret) Cowan, and Ruby Stone, both of Chillicothe; three brothers, Noland Creason, Carlsbad, N. Fred Creason, Crocker, and Ben Creason, Purdin; sister, Mrs. Robert (Martha) Smith, Purdin; 16 grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband In Nov.

13, 1971. Sprague Dorothy Davis Lula Childs Mrs Lula Lenora Childs, 79, of Newport, died at Toledo, Ore. Tuesday. She was the sister of Carrie Childs, Chillicothe Born in Chillicothe March 10, 1906, she was a daughter of Joseph Daniel Knouse and Minnie May Shaddon Knouse. She married Louis A.

Childs Aug 9, 1923 here. Mrs. Childs was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Newport. Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Susan Bearden, Newport, two sons, Ben Childs, Toledo, and Robert Childs, Newark, Calif four sisters, Mary Howe, Spencer, Carrie Childs, Chillicothe, Minnie Childs, Oakland, Calif, and Dick Scott, Spencer; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 1 Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday at the Bateman Funeral Home in Newport. Burial will be in Eureka cemetery, there. Sid Timmons services Funeral services for Cecil (Sid) Timmons were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the chapel of the Norman-Wagy-Singer Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev.

Steve Jones. Soloist was Donna Pat Triplett with organist Betty Preston. Burial was in the Wheeling cemetery. Pallbearers were Doug Allen, Cleo Munsterman, Raymond White, Daniel Fitzpatrick, Larry Forst and Dwight Murphy. Rites for Bessie Maupin Funeral services for Mrs Bessie Mae Maupin were held at 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday at the chapel of the NormanWagy-Singer Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Jackson officiating Burial was in the Mooresville cemetery. Pallbearers were Raymond Kitchin, Charles Crain, Carl Kerr, Clifton Scott, Billy Johnson and Lester Williams. Services for Lena Adams Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Estella Adams were held at 1.30 p.m.

Wednesday at the Liberty United Methodist Church. Officiating were the Rev. John Yocum, assisted by the Rev. Don Hoffman. Music was by Sharon Rearden and Mary Lou Whiteside, with organist, Virginia Lee Jones Burial was in Edgewood cemetery, under direction of the Norman-Wagy-Singer Funeral Home.

The rural department then went to a blaze on property owned by Mrs. Earl Hancock, located just north of Highway 190, two miles west of Chillicothe Firemen report that a bottle rocket had landed in the field behind a barn owned by Bill Watson. Firemen used 328 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze and cool the hot spots. They were at the scene for a total of one hour and 23 minutes.

The city department was dispatched to Hedrick Medical Center at 8.44 a.m. Wednesday to stand-by for the Life Flight helicopter from Kansas City Police Calls Chillicothe police investigated a report of fireworks discharge that sparked a fire near Anderson's TBA. Police and firemen investigating the incident found what appeared to be a small piece of a smoke bomb. Area residents were questioned about the fire which started around 12 noon, Thursday Police also took a report of a lost billfold, an assault complaint and investigated two accidents. Larry Crandell, 704 Williams, told police that while he was working on his car in the 400 block of Mack street, he apparently lost his billfold.

Kiwanis hear of golf team A golf team report was given by John Marcolla at Monday night's dinner meeting of the Chillicothe Kiwanis Club at the Carriage House Restaurant. The Kiwanis team tied for third place in the local Walter Hagen golf tournament to benefit the Cancer Fund. Team members were President Doug Roberts, President elect Dr. David Neal, Secretary Scott Stephens and Marcolla. Mention was made that Kiwanian Earl Weeks played on the -place State Farm team.

Marcolla also noted that the Kiwanis team placed higher than Rotary Club A and teams. President Roberts inducted Dan Hutchison as a new member of the club and recognized Wayne Allen as his sponsor. Don Lancey was appointed as Kiwanis representative to serve on the governing board of Camp Ki-Li-Ro-Co. Dr. John Neal and Ron Stoller, program chairmen for July, announced that Dale Parker, manager of the Missouri State Employment Service office, will be the speaker on July 1.
