The taxi, bound for the Alexandria, headquarters of WPKX-FM, maneuvers its way through light mid-morning traffic. On the radio, Johnny Paycheck is telling his employer, in somewhat colorful musical terms, to take his job and shove it "I ain't workin' here no more." The song fades and the disc jockey goes back to taking phone calls from his listeners.

In the next 30 minutes, Gary Dee will treat staid, white-collar Washington to a barrage of outrageous opinions that probably will be topics of discussion at that night's Georgetown cocktail parties.
