iRlNome Bond What Shall Your Vacation Give You All over this broad land today thou sands arc planning vacations If one could crystallize the thought uppermost in the minds of the majority as to the ob ject sought in tho vacation would it not be pleasure? Pleasure is not to be condemned The little shopgirl monotonously waiting on customers fifty weeks in the year hungers for pleasure The stenographer rl I ek i ng out dull letters on typewriter keys longs for pleasure The busy mother cooking sewing cleaning day in and day out wants pleasure It is all right to seek pleasure but mix a few otln ingredients with it that will spread this pleasure through the ensuing year Do not let it vanish with the end of the vacation Recreation is re creation and it fails of its object if it fails Io make us over for better work or back to our work wo must come willy nilly and it is better to return with a kcxm appetite for it that) to come back with no relish for the tasks ahead of us The right sort of vacation will bring otic back re created What then is the right sort? Usually it is the reverse of the way one lias been living if one has been indoors he should get outdoors If one has been hi the hurly burly he should get off where it Is quiet It one has been dwelling in solitary places ho should seek society The woman who has been doing nothing should work the woman who has been doing too much should rest The one on vacation bent should not make an unthinking dash for pleasure or In the end he will find he lias not secured pict ure He should think out deliberate! his re creation needs and then sock The girl who has been working hard In a store or office all winter and wlioc life is rather monotonous and dull does want pleasure She wants color life movement But she also wants outdoors nourishing food and rest if she Is to have the necessary relish for the work she Is coming buck to She should plan to get all these not merely the gayetyand noth ing more The tired housekeeper needs to drop all housekeeping cares to go where she will enjoy a well ordered house that i somebody vise runs and wvll prepared tfood that somebody else cooks I The woman whose work requires her constrantly tn meet many people will get more recreation out nf solitary places with ju: a few congenial friends where she talk if she does not want to or dress in tho latest style unless she desires hut where she ran rest and en joy (juiciness and wear simple casv clothing On the other hand the woman who lives in a lonely farmhouse will enjoy the whirl of crowded resort Every one needs a different prescrip tion for re creation but as that Is the object sought one should
