Calif. (AP) Coming into the National Pro-Am. comedian Bill Murray is playing it coy, while golfs leading pros are simply looking for a place to play. They scattered up and down the California coast in search of practice facilities for the old tournament scheduled over Monterey Peninsula courses Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills. All three courses have been closed for more than a week and, the PGA Tour and tournament officials have ruled, will not be open until the tournament begins Thursday.

After announcing the tournament courses will not be open for any practice rounds, officials said Monday "contestants are encouraged to practice at either Fort Ord or Corral de Tierra." Some of the 180 pros, with an equal number of amateurs, also went to the Links at Spanish Bay and other area courses to practice.
