Emerson Piano House "The Old Reliable House of Music" 143 North Main Street FLAPPER FANNY SAYS: Organ Music In Eveready Hour Many Stations SKorten Schedule for Holiday.

One of the feature programs of Christmas Day will be the Eveready Hour, broadcast by the WEAP chain beginning at 8 p. m. In this an organ recital played by Lew White, chief organist of the Roxy theater in New York, will be featured. Janet Gardier and Justin Buchard, will be heard as soloists. Few special programs are scheduled for Christmas Day.

In many instances, stations have shortened their regular schedules in order that employes, artists, announcers and engineers, may observe the holiday. Chains, however, will present the usual run of Tuesday evening features. THREE ACT PLAY. Very much approve the new allocation as I can now get high power stations only, one point apart on the dials and have no interference with each other. Here are a few I have been able to pick up. Haven't quite'so many stations as last winter but have not tried after midnight. DXer 182. Listening Merry Christmas, and a fruitful year in DX. Reception Monday evening was not as clear as one would expect for Christmas eve. One fan blamed the static to the disturbance in the air caused by Santa Claus and his reindeer as the good old Saint made his rounds, here, there and everywhere.

Whatever the cause, the noise was absolute, and only a few of the more powerful stations were heard clearly. Programs of the evening, however, seemed unusually interesting. Some criticism, of course, is justified on the basis of duplication of features, but as was mentioned Monday, this is to ba expected, certainly at Christmas time. Alfred P. Sloan, president of General Motois, was prevented by a cold from taking part in his company's Christmas program.

His message of good wishes was read to radio listeners, however, by another of the company officers. In compensation, fans heard another captain of American industry. H. S. Firestone, head of the rubber company which bears "his name, spoke briefly in the "Voice of Firestone" broadcast which, by the way, very interesting.

We liked best, the duet by Pranklyn Baur and Vaughn de Leath, "Didn't You Believe?" and "Tin Pan Parade" by the orchestra. WCBS came in 'clear. Worth a DX membership, eh, what? One could help' but be impressed at the sacredness of Christmas after hearing the special services broadcast by the two great chains at the approach of midnight. Dr. S.

Parkes Cadman led the NBC choral celebration. We heard only the close of the Columbia services. WliW broadcast the midnight mass from the St. John's Cathedral in Cincinnati. WGN's Christmas eve feature was a dramatic production, "Three Wise Men," written and announced by Quin Ryan.

Of all features of the evening, probably the best received was the Columbia chain's "A Christmas this is judging from the comments of fans heard Tuesday morning. We failed to hear the Columbia interpretation of the story, but we did tiear WLS' broadcast of it, and if the Columbia broadcast was any more interesting, it must have been perfect. Anthony poet, played the part of Scrooge, and played it per- efctly. The ghost roles were impressively filled--but then every voice, every character, added to the interest of the presentation. Listennig In has been advised by Santa, via grapevine, that some 400- odd radios were delivered this year to Decatur people as Christmas gifts.

Those who received the sets are cordially welcomed to radio society, and are reminded that the latch string of the DX club hangs out. For particulars, ask any friend who has owned a radio for three weeks, or address The Review, radio editor. The Pacific Coast was permanently linked to the NBC's studios in New York and Chicago Monday evening. Tha first program to go out over the extended chain was the General Motors party. The western link extends from Denver to San Francisco.

Maintenance of the permanent circuit will cost $220,000 a year, NBC officials say. This gives networks coast-to-coast dimensions, and the majority of the system's feature programs will be heard over the entire chain.
