A. Hurst was in Wellington Monday. Bert Ayers was down from Peck Monday afternoon. Ernestine Seals spent the week end with Wilma Phipps. T.

Max Reitz was in Wellington Saturday on business. Glenn Teague visited the County Surveyor's office Saturday. Mrs. Henry Stunkel has been on the sick list the past two weeks. Mrs.

R. E. Snow was a Kansas City visitor the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs.

Grant Knepple are expected soon from Lakewood, N. M. Mr. and Mrs. Joohn Smith have moved into the Briggle home on Line St.

Judge Fuller was over from Winfield Tuesday calling on Mr. and Mrs. Cain. Miss Helen Evers, of Winfield was a pleasant visitor at the High School Monday morning. Miss Lucile Tapley, of Baker University is visiting her brother Mr.

Tapley for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bell, of Riverdate spent Sunday with Mrs. Bertha Phipps and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Forney and son Charles were guests of Mr. and Mrs.

Bert Platt Sunday. Miss Ollie Constant of Wichita, visiaed Mrs. Mattie Barner, east of Belle Plaine, Thursday of last week. Miss Faye Skinner was dismissed from the Hatcher Hospital Sunday where she underwent an operation. Mr.

Chas. Wilson and Mrs. W. K.Morgan motored to Wichita Saturday afternoon. Mr.

and Mrs. John Rice and children of Wichita visited C. C. Cowell and daughter, Miss Caroline, Sunday. Mrs.

S. O. Bishop has been quite ill. Her daughter, Mrs. Hallie Norris, has been down from Wichita attending her.

Mrs. Hattie Mark of Winfield, visited her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Hatfield Wednesday and Thursday of last week.

C. Cowell and daughter Caroline motored to the oil fields near Oxford Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Carl Stephenson, Velda Jean, Geraldine and Emogene, visited Mr. and Mrs.

Chas. W. Cassoday at Tonkawa, week before last. The oil wells east of town have already beginning to have their effects on the town. W.th oil locations come men and men need houses.

Mrs. C. F. Marsolf, and daughters Catherine and Helen of Colorado are visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs.

A. E. Palmer for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs.

A. Petton and son George of near Dighton, were visitors at the home of Mrs. W. H. Calvert from Saturday until Tuesday morning.

Evers and Clarence had Sunday dinner at Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Wood's home.

Henry Baugh was a pleasant caller Saturday. He had been in Wichita attending a meeting of the Standard Oil and came down here to call on old friends. He started back to Scott City Sunday. Before leaving he renewed his subscription for the old home paper. The young folks of the Palestine Sunday School are busy with a play which they hope to have ready for presentation soon.

Charles Moore, whose family is still in Ohio, finally found a house in the northeast part of town, but his brother Wilbur Mcore, did not get located. Chas. has a wife and four children, his brother, a wife and one child. OUT WEST WITH APPLES. Albert Hatfield and Fred Branson have been at Liberal and surrounding, country the past two weeks disposing of some apples.

While waiting for the apples to arrive the boys took a few shots at the chickens. The chicken business was rather overdone this season judging from reports.
