Surviving are husband, Ronald L. of Reno; daughters, Deborah Meheula of Sparks, and Linda Lupton of Roseville, son, Ronald C. of Spearfish, S.D.; mother, Valda Horton Stith, of Modesto, sister, Wynoma Sparks of Pueblo, brother, Ben Lewis of Concord; three grandchildren and two great at the funeral home, with burial at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Fernley.

Florence E. Neilson Tamagni YERINGTON Florence E. Neilson Tamagni, 8 1 died Sept. 28, 1997, at Washoe Health Care Center, Sparks. A Wabuska, native, she was born April 2, 19 16, to NelseP.

and Nellie Penrose Neilson, and had lived in Mason Valley most of her life. Mrs. Tamagni was a homemaker. She was a member of the Queen Valley Rebekah Lodge 23, Homemakers Club, Yerington, St. Anne's Guild and the Holy Family Catholic Church.

She attended Mason Valley schools. Her husband, Victor, died in 1987 and brothers, Harold and Andrew Neilson, preceded her in death. Surviving are sister, Ruby Lessenger of Sparks; brother, Norman Neilson of Yerington, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, information to school and tour groups, or to work in various museum departments.

Tutoring: Tutors are needed to help students at Truckee Meadows Community College who have learning disabilities in a variety of subjects for 2-20 hours per week. VA Medical Center: Volunteers are needed for many tasks at the Veterans Administration center, including doing office work, circulating books, walking with patients, helping patients with meals, doing crafts, driving, helping with laundry, escorting patients, delivering charts and papers, and doing housekeeping. Most jobs are done between 8 a.m.

and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Volunteers are specifically needed to serve coffee and pastry at 0 a.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Volunteers who work at least 5 hours a day get lunch.

Braille transcribers: A volunteer group needs skilled WordPerfect typists to produce documents to be translated into braille for blind and deaf-blind people in the U.S. and other countries. Production workshop volunteers are also needed on Thursday mornings. No knowledge of braille is required but is helpful. WordPerfect 5.

A native of Crown Point, she was born Sept. 27, 1906, to Eliseo and Clare Unti Dovichi and had lived in Wells, Carlin, Battle Mountain, Imlay, Toy, Lovelock, Sutcliffe.Thisby, Sparks and Reno. Mrs. Menicucci was a homemaker. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Sparks and Sons Menicucci ot Italy.

Her husband, John died Feb. 6, 1987, and a son, Joseph, Nov. 1, 1979. Surviving are sons, John L. and Bruno P.

A memorial is being established with the church Building Fund, 590 Pyramid Way, Sparks 89431. Lillian Rose Williams Mitchell SACRAMENTO, Calif. Lillian Rose Williams Mitchell, 86, died Sept. 28, 1997, Rosewood Terrace Convalescent Home. A native of Bridgeport, she was born April 1 1 9 1 1 to Murphy and Jennie Summers Williams, and had lived in Sacramento for the past four years, coming from Carson City.

She had also lived in Arizona and Riverside, Calif. Mrs. Mitchell worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for many years and had worked at the Stewart Indian School from 1944 to 1957 as a dining room matron. She was a tribal member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe and a member of the Native American Church. Her husband, Fred, died in 1964.

Surviving are son, Fred Jr. of Sparks; daughter, Freda Mitchell of Sacramento, and Rosemary Clark of Phoenix; stepdaughters, lyle Mae Rodriguez and Ursula Webb of California; sister, Delores Wilie and brothers, Clarence, Ervin, Everett, Jack and Louis Williams, all of Nevada; and several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. A funeral is scheduled for 1 0 a.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, with burial at Lone Mountain, Carson City. Danny Jensen Robb Danny Jensen Robb, 6 1 died Sept.

30, 1997, at Washoe Medical Center. A Tonopah native, he was born May 1 8, 1936, to Raymond and Agnes Jensen Robb, and had lived in Reno since 1982, coming from Tonopah. Jensen worked for IGT and had worked for Nevada Bell for 28 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks and Rotary Club, Tonopah and a member of Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church.

He attended the University of Nevada, Reno. A brother, Marshall, died in 1982. Surviving are widow, Andrea, sons, Paul and Jack, and daughters, Bridget Peck and Theresa Volkmann, all of Reno; brother, Dean Woodworth of Tonopah, and five grandchildren. Recitation of the rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Walton Funeral Home, Reno.

A Mass of the Resurrection is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial at the Tonopah Cemetery. A memorial is being established with the UNR Scholarship Memorial, Acct. 604 1 398444, co Norwest Bank, Reno 89502. Gerrit J.

Aymar was a retired public accountant and an enrolled agent, retiring in 1995 after 30 years, and was a graduate of the University of 1 Nevada, Reno. He was a World War II Air Force veteran. Surviving are widow, Marcia, son, Dwight, and brother, Oliver, all of Reno. No funeral is scheduled. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cremation is under the direction of Walton's Funeral Home, Reno. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established with Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Sparks 89431. Archie Brophy Jr. CARSON CITY A memorial service for Archie Brophy 69, who died Sept. 24, 1997, in Sedona, is scheduled for 2 p.m.

today at the Comstock Mobile Home Village Community Hall, Carson City. A native of Muncie, he was born June 7, 1928 to Archie and Adella Brophy, and had lived in Carson City for 26 years, coming from Riverside, Calif. Brophy was a retired master carpenter and craftsman. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, serving aboard the USS Oakland. His parents, sisters, Lillian Brophy and Nila Joanne Brophy, and brothers, Buddy, Russell, and Carl Brophy, preceded him in death.

Surviving are widow, Luella "Jan" of Carson City; daughter, Carol Anderson of Sparks; brothers, Richard of Erlanger, Ky. and Thomas of Paradise Valley; sister, Mary Summers of Hemet, seven grandchildren and three great-granchildren. No funeral is scheduled. Cremation is under the direction of Westscott Funeral Home, Cottonwood, Ariz. Nathaline DeBeaumont Nathaline "Natalie" DeBeaumont, 62, died Sept.

25, 1997, at Washoe Medical Center. A native ofHargill, Texas, she was born Aug. 31, 1935, and had lived in Reno for the past 3 1 years, coming from Novato, Calif, and Concord, Calif. 1 Mrs. DeBeaumont worked for 29 years for Nevada Bell, retiring July 1, 1996 as Marketing the Academic Difference program will train tutors at 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Oct. 15 at the Children's Cabinet, 1 090 S. Rock Blvd. Volunteers will work with students in kindergarten through grade 1 2 one hour per week for one year on any day, any hours. Details: 856-6200, ext.

Marathon team: Sixteen marathoners, some of them first-timers, on the Arthritis Foundation's Joints in Motion Training Team are raising $2,500 each to participate in the 1 997 Honolulu Marathon in December. Children's library: Reno Martin Luther King Jr. Hall is starting a in-house children's library in honor of temporary resident Amanda Sprague, 6, who has drawn local attention and recognition by reading more than 300 books in the Washoe County Library summer reading program. Donations of money, children's books and shelves are needed. Money will be used to purchase books and school supplies for children who live at the shelter.

Paul Wilbur Edge Jr. YERINGTON Paul Wilbur Edge 56, died Sept. 26, 1997, at his residence. A native of Lawton, he was born Oct. 1 1 1 940, to Paul W.

Sr. and Maudie Grayless Edge, and had lived in Yerington for several years. Edge worked in the construction, heating and air conditioning industries. From 1985 to 1990 and since 1 992 he was on the Yerington Paiute Housing Authority, holding the offices of chairman, vice-chairman, and treasurer, Lyon County Planning Commission, holding chairman and vice chairman offices. He was chairman of the Caddo Housing Authority and was on the Caddo Tribal Council.

Edge was an Air Force veteran, serving for seven years. He was stationed at Toul-Rosieres Air Base, France, and Altus AFB, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Paula Jeanne Edge and Sharon Kay Sunday. Surviving are widow, Nikki (Quinn), daughter, Ambrosia Edge, and son, Gregory Quinn, all of Yerington; daughters Deborah Tom of Carson City, Jana Elizabeth Edge of Oxnard, and Mary Jones of Nixon; sons, Paul W. HI of Carson City, and Christopher Grayless of Tulsa, sisters, Cheryl and Janis Dutton, Wildena Moffer and Shirley French, all of Fort Cobb, and Joyce Kelley of Valdosta, brother, Sammy Guy of Norman, sister, Carol Swindell and brother, Edwin Edge Ahpeahtone, both of Anadarko, and four grandchildren.

A funeral is scheduled for 1 0 a.m. Friday at the Yerington Paiute Tribal Gymnasium, with burial at the Indian cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Freitas-Rupracht Funeral Home. Ruby A. Stevenson Erickson Visitation for Ruby A.

"Onnie" Stevenson Erickson, 95, who died Sept. 28, 1997, at the Northern Nevada Medical Center, is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. today at O'Brien-Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home. A native of Adams County, Iowa, she was born Feb. 1 1 902, to Samuel Edward and Linnie Strait Stevenson, and had lived in Reno since 1970, coming from Cabazon, where she had lived for 1 2 years.

Mrs. Erickson worked as foreman for the Banning Shirt Banning, and during World War II she was a wiring technician on B-29 airplanes for Boeing Aircraft, Seattle. She was a member of Washoe County Seniors, R.S.V.P. and Grace Community Church. Her husband, Arthur, died in 1974, and daughter, Valora Erickson in 1925.

Surviving are daughters, Nina Hennies of College City, Madeline Briner of Sacramento, and Dawn Ayarbe of Reno; nine grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, 13 great-greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with burial at Mountain View Cemetery. A look at local programs that need volunteers, sponsors or other kinds ofhelp: Make-a-Wish: The foundation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses, needs volunteers and service groups to help at its Million Dollar Shootout golf event Sept. 30-Oct. 5. Crisis Call Center: Volunteers are needed to answer phones for the center's 24-hour crisis phone line. The center also serves as the after-hours contact agency for reports of child abuse and neglect, and elder abuse and neglect. A training session will be held early in October. Details: 784-8085. Planned Parenthood: The group is recruiting high school and college-age adults to train as volunteer peer educators.

24 Hour Relay Challenge: Entertainers of all types are needed to volunteer for the 24 Hour Relay Challenge, a fund-raiser for northern Nevada youth programs set to be held Oct. 4 and 5 at Hug High School. Habitat for Humanity: The group seeks donations for raffle and silent-auction prizes or underwriting for a fund-raising Oktoberfest Oct. 9.
