Mr. Perkins considers this as put-! ting an end to further Lindbergh coin and medal legislation, but some of conferees do not. and they have' aasked him to talk the situation over this week-end with Mr. Breckinridge and Col.

Anschluss." The vistor in this big city'. often hears these two words wherever bus-! iness men, politicians or workmen get together for a chat. "Der Anschluss" is the biggest problem little. decapi-: tated, struggling Austria, has. "Der Anschluss" means voluntary annexation to Germany.

The peace treaties forbid It. Even if the peace treaties did not. interested European powers would. inspired by fear of a bigger and stronger Germany. So they insist upon the existence of this seemingly impossible little state of Austria to whose rescue the League of Nations has several times been compelled to come.

HOW IT'S SLICED UP. The situation in its A C's is this: When the treaty makers got through: with their carving of the old, big Austro-Hungarian empire, they had given of its former territory to Rumania and Jugoslavia and had created a new state, Czechoslovakia. All that was left of the big dual empire was a small Hungary and smaller Austria. latter as an independent country is almost an. economic and industrial impossibility.

SOME GERMANS OPPOSE Now lets' take the vies of the out. side states. The German parties ct the extreme right are not keen about this voluntary annexation.
