A Navy veteran, he retired as a painter for Master Painting and Sheeting, and was a member of Early Morning C.O.G.I.C. Church. He leaves his wife, the former Lula M.

Glomb BARBERTON Dorothy E. Glomb, 93, passed away Nov. 3, 1999. She was bom May 31, 1906, to Neal and Jean Egbert. She was a member of Moore Memorial United Methodist Church in Barberton for some 85 years, was an avid cake baker, and loved her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Glomb; parents; brother, Owen Egbert; son, Donald E. Glomb; and son-in-law, Ralph W. Hola-day. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Holaday, Margaret Richmond, and Jeanette Glomb, her faithful caregiver; grandchildren, Ruth Ann (Don) Looker, Mark (Kathleen) Holaday, Kathy Holaday, Suzanne (Larry) Cordner, Robert (Sandy) Richmond, David Richmond; great-grandchildren, Erin, Bradley, Katelyn, Danielle; and great-great-grandchild, Kalli Ann.

honors from Leetonia High School in 1965. She attended Oberlin College and majored in history, graduating with a B.A. in 1969. She later earned a Master of Arts in teaching from Oberlin. In June 1975, Billijo married Andrew Pyle and eventually moved to Clinton, Ohio, where they made their home.

Barbara Jane Pyle was bom in June 1976, and Charlie Jacob Pyle in August 1979. She was a loving and devoted mother and person. Billijo worked as a substitute teacher certified in history and studio art. She was a lifelong artist and always had an entuhusiastic, passionate, and creative spirit. She developed a reputation as a local artist specializing in portraits and landscapes.

She was a compassionate crusader who worked for social justice. Billijo enjoyed exercising, and frequently ran 5- and 10K races, including the Bolder Boulder. BJ was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 40 and continued to fight the illness and its limitations. Billijo is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jane Pyle of Clinton; son, Charlie Jacob Pyle of Akron; husband, H. Andrew Pyle of Clinton, mother, Meita Marshall of Akron; her brothers, Grantly Reed Marshall of Munich, Germany, and Wendell Phillips Marshall of Ravenna; sister, Kate MacQueen Marshall of Boulder, and Johnny Julia Marshall of Portland, Ore.

An area resident most of her life, she was a charter member of Milheim Baptist Church. In her early years, Catherine was a cashier and manager at Kroger's. She managed the Housewares department for Esco Distributing, and later was manager for Un-nea's Candy Cake Supply. She was a leader and advisor for the 4-H Loyal Maidens Club for many years. Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; and brother, David Buhite, she will be sadly missed by her children, Carol Ann Grayshock, Beverly Kubitza Shay, and Donald Haines; brother, Don Buhite; sister, Florence Durkey; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of special relatives and friends, and dear friends at Green and East Akron Dialysis Centers and William Pressler Towers.

Born Dec. 8, 1916, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of Robert and Florence Hudson. She spent most of her life in the Portage County area, wintering in Treasure Island, Fla. Mrs. Hankey had retired from General Motors Parts Division in Jacksonville, Fla.

She was a member of the Park Street Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, she had attended the Randolph United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Randolph Ladies Cemetery Association. As a young girl, she played piano for the Rootstown United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Alan McCalister. Survivors include her husband, Eugene; sons, Larry McCalister of Virginia, Robert McCalister of Washington; stepsons, Larry Hankey of Texas, David Hankey of Florida; many grandchildren; special niece, Pauline Monin of West Virginia.
