An old hayseed farmer from over the Ply-month mountain came to town on Wednef-day snorning and indulged in a good deal cf bad whisky. The farmer refused and Mr. Toban undertook to throw him out, when he pnlled a large knife and made a vicious attack on Toban, stabbing him in tbe face and once in tbe shoulder and cutting two ugly gashes. The fanner became frightened at the blood and took to the mountain as quick as possible and has not been heard from since. Toban bad his wounds dressed and suffurs much pain but will be able to be around in a few days. The farmer's face is quite familiar and he will be remembered on his next visit to Plymouth, William Taylor and Miss Mamie Jones were joined in matrimony at noon yesterday at the home of the bride on Gardner street in the presence of a large number of invited guests and relatives by lit v.

The bridal cob pie left on the 2:45 train for Forest City where they will make their home. William Carey and Miss Mamie Fionerty, two well known young pcorle of this town, were nniied in marriage at St. Vincent's church yesterday afternoon by Rev.

Father Donahue. Quite a number cf friends and relatives assembled at the church. After the ceremony they drove to the home of the bride's parents and were received most royally by their frieuds. Many costiy gifts and tokens had been received during the day. In the evening a tasty banquetwas laid.

The newly married couple will go to housekeeping in a neatly furnished house on Welsh Hill at once.
