M. i.p Daphne, the bashful nymph pursued by Apollo in Greek mythology, apparently has her admirers in Albuquerque, too. Ken Dunagan of Albuquerque reported that his five-font, 100-pound statue of Daphne was stolen from his front patio.

Tliis Weekend: Producer Sues Star Of IJonnic- HW YORK i.P Actress Fciye Durum ay. who played the gun moll in "Bonnie and is being sued for breach of contract and damaged by film producer Otto Preminger. Preminger, president of Sigma Production of Los Angeles, charged that Miss Dun-away did not fulfill a contract signed with him Feb. 16, 16. Preminger said the firm told her last September she was to appear for work on a new film Jan.

2 but she did not appear. well as it can be done. "Things" is a food dish one prepares on a stove which is not large enough to cook anything but 'spaghetti and thing Absolutely pins it down. This is quite a lot to accomplish within a comedy which, to be frank about it, sets my teeth on edge. 'r on edge almost from the start in "Barefoot." when Corie a 1 1 fresh from six glorious, honeymoon days in the Hotel Plaza and hugging the memory of her defloration like a teddy bear, comes bouncing into her Boll i a little walkup (five flights up) and starts bubbling all over the place.

('OKIE is one of those blithe, cute, irrepressible, merrily babbling little-girls-with-big-enthusiasms who any reasonable male would avoid like the plague. In the unlikely event the reasonable male would wake up one morning and find himself married to this creature, he would immediately start digging up the basement floor. That's the bride. Now, enter bridegroom. He's the slightly stodgy, maybe even pompous, young professional man, and though he's enchanted with this babbling child, he feels slightly superior to her, so condescends to her blithe spirits in sardonic humor.

Throw in the bride's doting mother, a doleful widow who clucks ruefully at her squirre-ly offspring, add one aging, zany, mock-Continental roue Saturday, Jan. 13 to 11:30 P. M. C.ERRY BROWN AND THE NEWCOMERS JIM AND JACKIE, THE TWO Is SPECIAL GUESTS: HOW ARD FOGG DENNIS FRANKS BETTIE LYNN Yes, sir, up to here in the stuff from which insipid comedies are made. HAT makes Simon such a notable achiever in "Barefoot" is that he's so good-natured about being insipid. It's quite remarkable, really. Simon is such a facile joke-turner and gag-line-thrower-outer you're almost ready to forgive him for building his fun on such a flimsy base. With Simon peppering you with humorous distraction, it's necessary for "Barefoot" to be played at a breezy, assured gallop.

The idea is for everyone on stage to be delighted with this enormous fun, and anxious to share the high, old times with the world. Bob Belfance's Weathervane production nicely communicates this share-the-gaie-ty spirit. Keep moving, keep punching. To pause is fatal, for they might start looking at what's beneath. DIRECTOR Belfance will have few better casting successes than Sandy Linver as Corie.

Miss Linver does the adolescent bouncing-and-bub-bling to like a turned-on child on an Ovaltine "trip." You get a i i impression Sandy's next line may be "Gloriosky, I sure love sex," and that's precisely the sort of artless, giddy (and horrifying) young gadfly Corie should be. As the stuffy bridegroom who is bedazzled, exasperated and bewildered by his manic mate, while keeping up the running line of comic chatter, Bob Crowley handles his assignment competently. Louise Goodman is capable with the awed, stunned somewhat feaful reactions of the mother to her giddy daughter, and Bob Bragg does well by the gentle, 1 1 -g humored zaniness of Victor Ve-lasco, the resident kook. "Barefoot" continues nightly except Mondays through Feb. 11 at Weathervane.

Mm Alec Guinness- PeterUstinov By DICK S1IIPPV Xeil Simon has several nota-ble accomplishments in his comedy hit "Barefoot In the Park," which Weathervane Playhouse is staging now, and in rather notable fashion itself. For one, playwright Simon provides us with a very good explanation of who or what i would consume nine cans of i tuna fish daily. It would be "a big cat with a can opener," and as soon as this is stated in "Barefoot," you realize he has solved the problem. Also, Simon has given us a graphic description of what happens when one over-indulges himself with a certain Greek liquor. You are unable to make a fist.
