Arizona woman kidnapped The Douglas County Sheriffs Department on Wednesday asked for the public's help in finding three unidentified men suspected of kidnapping, robbing and attempting to sexually assault a woman Sunday at Stateline. The 28-ycar-old victim, a visitor from Arizona, was not named.

Shortly after midnight, she was walking on a rear parking lot at Harrah's Tahoe when the men tried to snatch her purse. When she held onto it, she was knocked down, then forced into their car and driven to Camp Richardson in nearby California. The men held her for five hours before returning her to Stateline. She described the men as Filipinos in their 30s, one with a moustache. The car is an older model pale yellow four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Caprice.

The Sheriff's Department asked anyone with information about the men to call 588-351 1 Prayer breakfast next week The sixth annual Governor's Prayer Breakfast is 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Feb. 6 in the Broadway Room at Bally's Reno. The Rev.

Prescott, 5 1 whose 1953 Cessna 1 70-B crashed at about 1 2:30 p.m. on Austin Summit, three-quarters of a mile east of the city. Authorities from the Lander County Sheriffs Department and Federal Aviation Administration cleared the crash scene Wednesday evening without any clear determination of what caused the crash. "I don't think they can tell at this point," and Lander County sheriffs Lt. Dwane Urrutia.

"There was one eye witness. He said the plane just came out of the clouds and a wing caught the mountain." Prescott reportedly was flying from Boise to Southern California at the time of the crash. He had just landed in Battle Mountain and his next scheduled stop was in Tonopah. Poetry to honor Hispanics ELKO The theme for this year's annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering is the Hispanic contribution to ranching in America. The famous gathering, which began Wednesday and runs through Sunday, will feature a ranchero band and Francisco Zamora to demonstrate rope spinning and horsemanship in addition to the usual poetry readings and western music shows.

An exhibit, "The Vaquero: Gear, Art and Photographs," also will be on display. Although most rooms in Elko are booked for the popular event, there often are last minute cancellations. There also are rooms available in neighboring Wells. This year. Riders in the Sky appear at the Red Lion and Rob Quist and Red Steagall appear at the Stockman's.

Reno police identify four suspects in Tuesday robberies Four suspects in an armed robbery spree Tuesday were identified by Reno police Wednesday as Kenneth Davis, 24, Christopher M. Wood, 1 8, Leo D. Bob Miller is expected to be one of the star players this afternoon when Dayton High School teachers take on faculty members from the University of Nevada, Reno, in a benefit basketball game for Katie Hutson. Proceeds from the basketball and halftime raffles will go to defray travel expenses her family incurred in connection with the surgery. The residents' plan is an alternative to one created by Terra West developers.

The county is requiring the developer to create a specific plan before development of the 1 ,000 acres. The Terra West plan, rejected by the neighborhood, calls for 2,000 houses on city sized lots and does not include an equestrian center. The residents want an equestrian center and lots no smaller than five acres. Leona E. Wilhelm Fox Retired budget analyst LAS VEGAS Leona E. Wilhelm "Nana" Fox, 84, died Monday at Humana Hospital. A native of Baltimore, she was born Sept. 1 0, 1 907.

and had lived in Las Vegas since 1 980. coming from Reno, where she had lived since 1 952. Mrs. Fox was a retired federal budget analyst, hav ing worked at Stead Air Force Base until it closed. Surviving are sons John W.

A native of Colorado Springs, she was born Nov. 23, 1 897, and had lived in Fallon since 1920, coming from Reno. Mrs. Lattin was a beautician, and had owned and operated the Parisian Beauty Shop. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1 964, and sister Edna Beaman. Surviving are sons Dick and Bill, both of Fallon, five grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. A graveside funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Fallon Cemetery, under the direction of the Smith Family Funeral Home. Earl George Merkt Electrician FALLON Earl George Merkt, 84, died Wednesday at Fallon Convalescent Center.

A native of Salida. he was born Jan. 21,1 908. and had lived in Fallon since 1926, coming from Winnemucca. Merkt was an electrician.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ida Wood Merkt, brothers Clyde and Carl Merkt and Arthur McGruder and sister Grace Dela Vega. Surviving are brothers Albert Merkt of Yuma, and Louis McGruder of Emmett, Idaho, sister Edith Wheeler of Fallon and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Fallon Cemetery, under the direction of the Smith Familv Funeral Home. A memorial is being established with the Fallon Senior Center, 3 10 E.

Court Fallon 89406. Richard G.G.Peters Dealer Richard G.G. Peters, 32, died Sunday at Washoe Medical Center. A native of Portland, he was born May 7, 1959. Peters was a dealer and had worked for First Interstate Bank.

Surviving are his mother, Marilyn Ingram, of Scappoose, two brothers, one sister and a grandmother. A memorial Mass is scheduled for 1 1 a.m. Friday at the Carmelite Monastery. Frank A. Zevnick Body shop owner MOUNDHOUSE Frank A. Zevnick, 49, died Monday at his residence. A native of Cleveland, he was born Sept. 28, 1 942, and had lived in Moundhouse for the past year, coming from Dayton, where he had lived for 1 0 years.

A graveside funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Hawthorne Cemetery. AlbertB. Everett Brakeman and conductor Sparks native Albert Bernard Everett, 65, died Monday at Washoe Medical Center.

He was born March 20, 1 926, to Albert Chadbourne and Maysie Hill Everett, and had been a lifetime area resident. Everett worked for Southern Pacific Railroad as a brakeman and conductor for 34 years, retiring in 1981.
