Noble brothers sought in connection with crime last year in Franklin Twp.

Beacon Journal staff report. Two men accused of terrorizing a Franklin Township woman and her grandson during a home burglary last year have been apprehended in Nashville, Tenn. According to a report in today's editions of the Tennessean newspaper, Gary Lee Noble and his brother, Ted Noble, led authorities on a brief chase yesterday before being caught near the exit ramp to Interstate 265 near Metrocenter office park. The brothers, whom police labeled armed and dangerous and hunted for more than a year, now face federal charges of unlawful flight, the newspaper reported. They were being held at the Criminal Justice Center Detention Facility in Nashville pending extradition to Ohio.

A correction officer said they were being held for the night. Gary Noble, 30, was wanted on nationwide arrest warrants on charges of aggravated robbery, burglary and kidnapping, and Ted Noble, 33, was wanted on warrants of receiving stolen property. The two men are accused of tying up and threatening business owner Becky Wood and her 9-year-old grandson, then fleeing with a safe with an estimated $34,000 in jewelry and cash. They also allegedly fled with Wood's car, which was later recovered. In March, a segment about the case involving the Nobles was aired on the television show Unsolved Mysteries.

The show aired information about the crime and the suspects, both formerly of Akron, along with their pictures. Authorities got tips saying Gary Noble was working on a stadium construction project in Nashville and followed the lead, the newspaper reported.
