Sunday, May 27, 1973 Akron Beacon Journal 27 ailbag thors with all the insight to overcome their prejudices against intelligent scripts. Then we'll have peace among the faithful and the skeptical. MAYBELLE D. BROWN, Lyle Sluart, New York. Dear Maybelle: Miss Ball dutifully testified before an investigating committee that, in 1936, as a dumb redhead, she had voted for a Communist political candidate because she had promised her granddaddy she would do so.

That's not much of a "full" story. Still, I suppose if you're plugging a redundancy like the biography of Lucille Kail, you try to substitute drama for low comedy. DEAR SIR: I am writing about a cartoon called Superstar Movie. It had pollution on it and I think the air is bad enough without having it on TV. Don't you think so? LOR1 Wadsworth.

Dear Lori: I think you feed great straight lines. How did you acquire this talent at such an early age? DEAR DICK: The Watcrgalc group also could appear on Price Is Right, Let's Make a Deal, Jeopardy, To Tell the Truth and Truth or Consequences. GEORGE, Cuyahoga Falls. Dear George: The Supreme Court is going to have to decide, one of these days, whether Wafer-gate jokes constitute cruel ssetil iithuman punishment for the unwary. TV EDITOR: "Lucy: The Bittersweet Life of Lucille Ball," a candid biography by Joe Morella and Edward Epstein and the first book about Lucille Ball, was published this month by Lyle Stuart.

"Lucy" explores the fascinating private and professional lives of the carrot-topped superstar whose real-life roles have run the gamut from soda jerker to high fashion model, Goldwyn Girl, extra bit player, wise-cracking second lead, B-pic-ture queen, TV star and studio executive. "Lucy" takes a close look at the star's checkered private life. The stormy, battling years with Desi Arnaz. The. headline-grabbing romances of son Desi Jr.

The raucous stockholders fights at Desilu. The romance and marriage relationship with Gary Morton. And the full story behind Lucy's alleged Communist ties which brought her before a Senate investigating committee in the 50s. Contact: DEAR DICK: Regarding your column of April 11: "Here We Go Again" begat "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice." Have you looked into NBC's publicity lately? In two quite separate items printed in Preview, we learn that "Kibbee Hales Fitch" and "Shakespeare Loves Rembrandt" are both possibles in the NBC 1973-74 season. Could CBS be far behind with "Doc Loathes Kitty" and "Sonny Tolerales ELLEN Akron.

Dear Ellen: Frankly, I'm waiting for ABC to cancel Kung Fu, because of declining ratings, so that I may write a headline which notes Kung Fu Brung Few. DEAR MR. SHIPPY: I would like to know when the movie "Viva, Max" will be shown on national television. I enjoyed the movie very much and would like to see it again. D.

Akron. Dear D. Let's establish that "Viva, Max," starring Peter Ustinov, involves a comic opera Mexican colonel who invades San Antonio, circa 1970, and recaptures the Alamo. In that most hapless comedies eventually wind up on network TV, you'll see it all too soon if it's the next century. DEAR MR.

SI11PPY: Every time someone has a question about Star Trek you are always critical and skeptical in your answers. What I want to know is why. Star Trek was a very good show. Maybe sometimes its plot was silly or dumb, but its theme was very important. One theme that is gotten out of the series is that all people whether black or Russian, white or Oriental, are equals and that prejudices are silly.

It doesn't matter what color you are or where you come from. All that matters is that you are a person. Another theory it presents is that we will overcome our prejudices. This is not so confounded because someday we will learn that prejudices are silly and peoples will live in peace. Star Trek was also an enjoyable show because it was very believable and realistic The creatures from other planets were also believable and showed great insight on the part of the author.

So why are you so critical and skeptical about Star Trek? STREK FAN. Dear Fan: Oh, I'm just waiting for those au Spend Memorial Day at Ohio's Newest Country Music Park! IN PERSON! Aren't They Sweet? ERNEST TUBB "Southern California is the land of opportunity," he says. "Within a week of arriving I had a job as a church organist." KAKKN started drumming when she was 16. Through subsequent group transformations, first as the Carpenler Trio (with a friend), then as Spectrum, a larger band, she developed into the lead singer. Although she has been successful in what is generally considered a man's field (drumming), she has little patience for women's lib and feels it's a wife's duty to cook for husband, because, "Well, I like 1o cook.

"And just look at him," pointing to her brother, "he can't even cook water Just say that I certainly plan to cook for MY husband." Continued From Fage 3 sincere image is not a put-on.
