Bean said he hoped to have the league in operation in time for the first games to be played at night on the lighted playgrounds. Recent conversion of a portion of Riverside Park to playgrounds will do much to relieve congestion at other recreation centers. Those in attendance at GAAC business clinic meetings have re peatedly shown Interest in recrea tion projects. A major topic for discussion has been construction of a swimming pool, many hav urged a sports arena for the city and several have talked pf' larger and more numerous playgrounds. There can be a few permaneni arguments raised against a sports arena, swimming pool, 'or add! tional playgrounds. One Of the arguments against an arena migh be the shortage of materials, a problem which some day will be solved.

Segregation ahd othe arguments have been handled in other 1 communities 1 which hav swimming pools, 1 including Wobt River, Which caters to much out of-town trade. Arguments agains more playgrounds are weak. One of the major accomplish ments of the GAAC clinics has been for' residents to help 'city official and.business men to realize tha a large majority of the towns people are recreation and sports Tiinded.
