Levitt (R-Hartville) announced today that he will seek election as chairman of the Stark County Republican Committee at Its May organizational meeting. Levitt, who lives at 13344 Congress Lake is in his sixth term in the Ohio House of Representatives but is not seeking reelection at the end of his term in December. County Republican chairman William B. Morris will not seek reelection. A lawyer for the past 20 years, Levitt, 47, has been on Canton City Council, assistant Canton solicitor and special counsel for the Ohio Attorney General.

Goodrich foreman, died Saturday at his North Port Charlotte, home. Born in Waterloo, Mr. Smith worked for 40 years for Goodrich in Akron. He retired 14 years ago and moved to Florida 12 years ago. Mr.

Smith was a former member of the Victory Lodge, Kenmore chapter. He is survived by his wife Ada, of North Port Charlotte; sons Walter Jr. of North Canton and Joe Newell of Akron; daughter Mrs. Mary Ni-choloson of Tallmadge; two sisters and four brothers, all of Mississippi; eight grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Wednesday at the Karlo funeral home, with burial in Sunset Hills cemetery. Marian Cahoon, At Age Of 78 SEVILLE Marian Seely Cahoon, 78, of 3904 Seville rd. died Sunday at the Crestview nursing home, Medina. Born in Lodi, Mrs. Cahoon was a life resident of Medina County.

She and her husband, the late Ernie Cahoon, farmed in Medina County 50 years. She was a member of the Seville United Methodist Church, Guilford Grange, Women's Society, Seville Day Center, South Guilford Farm Bureau Council, and served on the Official Church Board. She leaves her son Howard, Seville; daughters Mrs. Glad- -ys Gordon, Seville, Mrs. Nina Winkler and Mrs.

Esther Winkler, both of Rittman; sisters Mrs. Marie Woods, Seville, Mrs. Virginia Prescot, Akron; half-sister Mrs. Reah Griggs, Millersburg; 12 grandchildren and four: great-grandchildren. Wadsworth 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A second man on the raft, Dennis Chwirchak of Parma was saved when someone handed a stick out to him, but Zmorowski was swept to the middle of the fast-moving river and disappeared. "THE WALK was long, but I tried to walk the river with my husband from around 8:30 in the morning until he had to go to work at 3 in the afternoon," she said.

The distance the couple walked was around three miles. "But I knew I would find him. I'm his mot'- Zmorowski of Ridge-wood had been employed at TRW Inc. in Independence. He leaves, in addition to his parents and brother, his wife Mary Ellen, and three sons.

"I saw him when he was born and I wanted to see him when he died." Mrs. Marion Zmorowskl of Cleveland quietly explained her determination to find her son John, 23, of Twinsburg who had been missing since March 10 when his raft capsized on the Cuyahoga River. Sunday she got her wish after six weeks of searching. Walking the banks of the river as she had done daily, Mrs. Zmorowski saw her son floating in the river.

SHE HAD walked the banks with her husband and sometimes with her other son, Ted of Garfield Heights, because of her wish to see her son for the last time. "She was also afraid that the priest or the police would not let her see him," said Mrs. Ted Zmorowski. John Zmorowski, a former Marine and avid sportsman, 1 p.m. Tuesday with Mr.
