Y. Page received word Wednesday morning of the death of her father, J. H. Hicks, which occurred early Wednesday at his home in Silsbee. Mr.

and Mrs. Page left immediately for Silsbee. The Young Women's Study Guild meets next Tuesday night at Ann Keasler's. Every member is urged to be present. Attend the Quilt Show, Friday Feb.

22. ATTEND DALLAS FUNERAL Mr. and Mrs. Carson Keasler to Dallas Tuesday where thc-y attended the funeral of Mrs. Keasler's uncle, Frank Cash and his daughter, Miss Juanita.

Mr. Cash suffered a stroke of pralysis, and his daughter who was ill with the flu, was so stricken that her death occurred Monday. and Mrs. A. B. White, of Cedar Hill. It was given by the Sunday School class at the Methodist Church.

Hot chocolate and cookies were served to the guests. About 75 useful presents were given. Mr. and Mrs. Duncan are making their home in Dallas.

Mr. and Mrs. Owen Walden and daughters, Mary Alice and Betty Jean, of Dallas, were visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rape in Cedar Hill.

Miss Lucile Pogue and her mother? Mrs. Modena Pogue, of DeSota, were visitors in the home of Mrs. Herman Rape and Mrs. Charlie Mayfield, both of Cedar Hill last Sunday. Miss Dearing, the new teacher in the Cedar Hill school, has taken the place of Miss Pierce.

We are all very sorry to lose Miss Pierce, but we are proud of the new teacher. Miss Dearing will be the new teacher in the Glee Club and we expect to learn several new songs. The girls of the eighth and ninth grades have organized and play ball during tihe activity period. Thelma Plummer is captain and the other players are Nona Lee Brooks, Lola Tuley. Tincy Sink, Thelma Ruth Jordan, Susie Pickard, Mary Ellen Taylor.Billie Hancock, Orlene Sims, Ada Nash, Bernice Williams, and Waldeen Cannady.

The ninth grade of our school has formed the following petition, which means that at the end school the person who has failed because of conditions rather than sickness will get a lick from each member of the class who has signed the following: "We, the pupils of the ninth grade hereby resolve to study and get the affiliation in our history and biology. The student who fails at the end of thi sterm will get a lick from each member of the class." Death of Robert Wilson We are sorry to report the death of Mr. Robert Wilson, a former boy in Cedar Hill, after a car having overturned and injured him. He was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he died early Monday morning.

Burial was held at Little Bethel' Tuesday morning. His wife, Mrs. Robert Wilson, sisters, Martha Wilson and Rachel Wilson; an aunt, Miss Josie Wilson; and Mr. Joe Wilson survive him. Herman Mayfield, Miss Mary Jane Mayfield, Miss Eva Mayfield and Mrs. Lawrence Mayfield visited in the MthocUst Hospital with Miss Jessie Rape Sunday evening. Miss Jessie Rape, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.

Rape, in the Cedar Hill community, was reported seriously ill after an elevator, in which she was riding, got out of controll at the tenth floor of the Perkins building in Dallas. She was taken to the Baylor Hospital but was removed to the Methodist Hospital. We hope that she will recover and be home before long. Miss Mary Jane Mayfield visited in the home of Miss Eva Mae Mayfield Sunday. Miss Mary Jane Mayfield spent last Thursday night in the home of Allene Johnstone.

Farmers' Meeting A farmer's meeting was held at Luton's the Cedar Hill school auditorium Feb. 5 at 7:15 o'clock, Mr. Wylie, the president, called tBe meeting to order and Mrs. Herbert Pickerd, the new secretary, read the minutes of the last meeting. The meeting was turned over to G.

G. Loftin, who discussed some material that he possessed. A comparison was made in the country of Denmark and the United States. The appointed committees were discussed, and Tom Beaty was appointed to keep a record on the dairy business. Crandall Haswell, of Cedar Hill, has just returned from his brother's in Groveton, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Luch Johnston, of Arlington, visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mayfield Tuesday afternoon of last week.

The Church of Christ has started having a Bible class every Thursday night at 7:30 o'clock. Everyone is invited to attend. M. Morris was a Sunday visitor in the home of Mrs. S.

P. Hudson. Other visitors in the home were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Joe Hudson, and daughter, Shirley Joe.

Mrs. Daniels, of Dallas, the mother of Mrs. Branden, of our community, died at her home Tuesday evening. She was buried at Ten Mile cemetery Wednesday, Feb. 6 at four o'clock.

O. A. R. P. Club The Old Age Revolving Pension Club met at the Cedar Hill school house Wednesday night.

Feb. (5 and the following program, was given: Song by Reeves brothers, "Silvet Threads Among the Gold." Negro dancer, Ruth Reeves. Songs by Ruth Reeves, "Walking' in Winter Wonderland" and 'Hands Across the Table." A presentation of "No, No, A Thousand Times No" was put on by seven girls. The parts played by each were: Thelma Plummer, hero; Rebecca Plummer, maiden; Robinetta Stearman, yillian; Lovetta Potter, minister; Tootle Wylie, Anna Mae Hood and Daveta Tuley were the singers. Two cakes were auctioned off.

Mrs. Fae Shutt received the first one, and Mrs. Green ie Bray received the second. Cake and coffee were served for five cents a plate. It seemed that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Mrs. Malaprop Explains Her Operation. Some years ago an old Irish woman went to see a doctor and she explained: "Doctor, I have been lots of places to find out what is the matter with me and I know I am an awful sick woman. I'm the sickest woman I know. I went to the hospital and thought I would get fixed up alright, but everything was all wrong.

They said that I was so bad that I cton't know ho I have lived 'til now. Well, I couldn't have lived at all if I hadn't had an awful strong institution. At the hospital they said that my intentials were in very bad shape, and that my bladder had dropped through the maginer wall. Yes, sir, they said that my reckless was all split! I wanted them to go ahead and fix me up but they said my heart was so bad they couldn't give me an disinfectant. V. (Mother) Davis, attended the District Firemen's Association at Irving last Thursday night. The next District meeting will be held at Carrollton, March 5. All members and friends of the fire boy 8 are urged to attend this meeting. HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUB.

A very interesting and profitable afternoon was spent Wednesday whe nthe Home Demonstration Club met at the cannery instead of Mrs. Hale's as planned. Mrs, Scheppler presided. Mr. Gilliam, of Dallas, gave a demonstration on pruning and caring for roses and other helpful information on caring for fruit trees, iris, etc.

A regular business meeting followed. Twenty members weer present. The next meeting will be a pickle demonstration at the home of Mrs. Jess Graham. Miss Ruth Clark will attend and conduct the demons traiton,.
